“Swerve came out for a promo.
He said it was fitting they were wrapping up Black History month because he WAS black history. He said night in and night out he not only defended the title, he showcased it to the world. He said he was no one-hit wonder, but his man Nana was right two weeks ago when he said the AEW Title hadn’t been his focus for too long. He said he was still the man around here. He was still the best wrestler in the world, and to prove that he needed gold around his waist. But standing in his way was this f*cking GEEK Ricochet with Nana’s robe. He said they weren’t done yet.
Out came Ricochet. He stole Mercedes’ “Are you stupid or are you dumb?” line. He got massive heat. He said winners don’t chase losers, but the fans wouldn’t get that because the Padres sucked ass and the Chargers left town. He said he wanted gold. He said Swerve would never be a champion, and he was never facing him again.
Nana said I have an offer for you. I talked to Tony Khan and he agrees with Swerve and I: These fans deserve a rematch. All you have to do is accept, he told Ricochet, adding the winner will become number one contender to the World Title.
Ricochet said dammit, you know what, I’ll give you credit, that’s good. All I gotta do is whip Swerve’s ass again, and my ticket is punched to be the next World Champion? You’re on, he said. But we’re not doing it tonight. He said they’d do it in a real California city, Los Angeles, at Revolution.
