“Adam Copeland vs. Wheeler Yuta
Fans were chanting, “GET A HAIRCUT!” I presume it was at Yuta, but Cope’s 2025 mullet is quite the question mark itself. They had a good match but it was different than you’d think. Copeland has been murdering members of the Death Riders one-by-one, but here, they started with a lock-up and then just had a scientific grappling match. That was bizarre. They were trading submission attempts after the commercial. Copeland hit the impaler DDT and set up for the spear. Wheeler avoided it and countered into a cattle mutilation. Not a single human in the building bought this as a finish at all. Wheeler avoided the spear again, but then tried a rebound in the ropes and Copeland hit the spear and pinned him in a good, solid, scientific grappling win via pinfall for Copeland here in this blood feud.
Fans chanted, “ONE MORE SPEAR!” Copeland then shook Wheeler’s hand and said, “THIS IS WHAT RESPECT FEELS LIKE!” So, the reason for the match and the sparing of his life is that he likes Wheeler and wants him to turn.
After the match, Moxley hit the ring and started screaming at Wheeler, asking him what this handshake shit was. Apparently he didn’t like the scientific battle of holds. Moxley was slapping him around and the fans started chanting, “YUTA!” Yuta finally shoved him aside and walked out. I watched this and immediately presumed this is all a ruse and Yuta is costing Copeland the title on Sunday.
Moxley stormed backstage and told Yuta to keep walking. He then cut a promo on Copeland, saying he was all alone, defenseless, like a sheep, at Revolution. You win, he said, you got to me. You pissed me off, you distracted me, you wasted my time, you brought out the worst in me. The bars were there for your safety, he said. But what are you going to do to me on Sunday? Nothing. You deserve to get your ass beat, so I’ll enjoy every second of beating your ass. There is no respect in this business, he said, I’m the only guy who gets that. You get respect one way in this business, when the people know you’re willing to pull the trigger. And Sunday, I only have to pull the trigger once.”
