The following is an excerpt from Bryan Alvarez’s AEW Dynamite recap, available for subscribers.

“Megan Bayne vs. Kris Statlander

They had a powerhouse match and worked really good together. This was the first back-and-forth we’ve seen with Bayne and it was a much better showing than just winning squash matches and never showing emotion.  They didn’t really do a heat segment; they just went back and forth with big moves.  They fought on the apron after the break and Statlander hit a back suplex on the apron. Megan gave her a back suplex into the ring, then they fought up top.  Kris shoved her off, and as the ref was checking on Megan, Penelope Ford ran down and shoved Statlander off. Megan then hit the F-5 for the pin. Lots of heat for that finish.  

Penelope attacked Kris afterwards.  We then had, no joke, the worst run-in of 2025 anywhere on Earth.

Thunder Rosa ran down with a chair.  She acted like she was going to hit Megan but Penelope stood in front of her. Thunder then reared back and — and — AND — and did nothing.  She just froze.  Penelope walked up to her and grabbed the chair and they had a tug-of-war which Thunder won.  Then, Thunder just stood there.  The heels laughed at her and left.  I HAVE NO F*CKING IDEA WHAT HAPPENED HERE.  I was dying.”
