First wrestler qualifies for AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door TNT title match
The first wrestler has qualified for the ladder match to crown a new TNT Champion set for AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.
Konosuke Takeshita defeated Penta El Zero Miedo on Friday’s AEW Rampage episode to become the first wrestler to qualify for the Forbidden Door ladder match.
The ladder match to decide a new TNT Champion was announced by new storyline authority figure Christopher Daniels on this week’s Dynamite. The TNT Championship was vacated by Adam Copeland who suffered a broken tibia in his barbed wire cage match title defense against Malakai Black at last Sunday’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view.
The TNT title match, plus Swerve Strickland defending the AEW World title against International Champion Will Ospreay are the first bouts set for Forbidden Door on Sunday, June 30. Ospreay won a casino gauntlet match on Dynamite to earn his title shot.
