Elton John song returning as AEW Collision opening theme for 2025

AEW Collision will kick off 2025 with a familiar theme.

Tony Khan announced on Wednesday that Elton John’s “Saturday Night’s Alright For Fighting” will once again be the show’s intro song, as it had been from the first episode in June 2023 until July 2024.

“Starting this Sat 1/4 Collision simulcasts Saturdays on @TNTdrama + @StreamOnMax! Our Christmas #AEWCollision episode was our most viewers in a year and a half! Elton John Saturday Night’s Alright For Fighting is back for 2025!

Following the July 20, 2024, the show used “Red Light Is On (Let’s Go)” by Omega Sparx and Mikey Ruckus. After the change was made, Ruckus posted to social media, saying that “there is no upgrade from Elton.”

Ruckus wrote:

“Hey guys. Its ok. I knew it would be universally hated. Theres no such thing as an upgrade from Elton. Change is inevitable. We tried something different with the college/gogo cadence. I knew many wouldn’t get it. Again, it’s ok. I’m happy with it, my team is happy with it. It’s not changing.”

“Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting” was the first single off Elton John’s 1973 album, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. It spent 12 weeks atop the US Billboard Hot 100 and went platinum, selling over 1,000,000 copies in the United States alone.
