Darby Allin wins TNT title on AEW Dynamite

Darby Allin is once again the TNT Champion.
Allin defeated Samoa Joe in the main event of Wednesday’s Dynamite to become the new champion, defeating Joe after a code red and two coffin drops off the top rope. The match was hard-hitting, with Allin at one point flying off a ladder set up on the stage, taking out Joe early in the match.
After Allin won the title, Sting came to the ring and hugged Allin. When the show went off the air, Allin talked about growing up in Seattle and said he used to come to the Climate Pledge Arena via train. He introduced Nick Wayne, saying he had given Wayne an AEW contract last year at Defy Wrestling and said that one day perhaps they could meet for the TNT title.

With the win, Allin is now a two-time champion. Joe’s run with the championship ends after 47 days, defeating Wardlow back at Full Gear on November 19.
The match was set up on last week’s Dynamite when Allin ran in to make the save for Wardlow, who was attacked after Samoa Joe defeated him to retain the TNT title, then cut off his hair after the match. On Rampage, Sting told Allin that he wouldn’t say if he believed Allin could win the title, instead saying he would rather let Allin have a chip on his shoulder heading into the match.
