Darby Allin wants to plant an AEW flag on top of Mount Everest in 2025

Darby Allin has not given up on his goal of climbing Mount Everest.
Allin had planned to climb the mountain last April but suffered a broken foot in a match at AEW Big Business the month before he was scheduled to go, postponing his plans. During today’s AEW All In Texas media event at Globe Life Field, Allin reiterated his goal to climb Everest in April 2025 and said that he plans on planting an AEW flag at the summit when he does so.
Allin said:
“The cool thing with AEW is I can look at myself in the mirror and know exactly who I’m looking at. This company gives me so much. They let me do what I want to do out there in the ring in front of all of you, and they let me do what I want to do in my personal life. I am climbing Mount Everest in April, and I’m going to take that AEW flag and plant it on top of the goddamn world to remind everybody what AEW is capable of.”
“When I climb down from that mountain, I’m coming to Globe Life Field, and as a whole, AEW as a family, we’re going to remind the world exactly what this company is capable of. Because it doesn’t happen with just us, it happens with every single one of you. We wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for you guys. So, thank you for coming out. Thank you for continuing to show the love. Globe Life Field, July 12th, is going to be very, very, very special, and we are not going to put on anything less than what you guys deserve.”
Sting made an appearance shortly after Allin’s segment at today’s press conference. He predicted that Allin will win the AEW World Championship next year.
Despite having big plans for 2025, Allin still has a lot on his schedule for the remainder of 2024. He’s currently entered into the Gold League in AEW’s second-ever Continental Classic tournament. His next advertised match is against Will Ospreay on the December 18, 2024, episode of AEW Dynamite.
