Darby Allin on reaching Mount Everest summit: ‘What a ride’

Darby Allin has commented on reaching the summit of Mount Everest.
News that Allin and his team from Adventure Consultants had completed the climb was first reported Sunday by Everest Chronicles, a website that tracks climbers in the Himalayas.
On Monday, Allin posted a photo to social media showing him and other climbers at the summit holding an AEW flag.
“Mount Everest summit. What a ride thanks @aew for everything in life. Thanks to the amazing team at adventure consultants and the Sherpa squad this shit was wild!”
At least four people have died while climbing Everest this season (April to end of May), with others still reported missing. A total of 468 climbing permits have been issued, and more than 200 summits have been logged so far, including 135 on Sunday.
Subrata Ghosh, a 45-year-old veteran climber from India, is believed to have died in the “Death Zone” during his descent from the summit. Philipp II Santiago of the Philippines died last Wednesday while resting at Camp 4 ahead of his final climb. Indian climber Rakesh Bishnoi reached the summit but died on the way down before making it back to Camp 4. Romanian cameraman Zsolt Vago died before reaching the summit.
Descending from the top of Everest is widely considered more dangerous than the climb up due to exhaustion, changing weather, and depleted oxygen levels.
