Coffin match, Hook, Tony Khan ‘major announcement’ set for AEW Dynamite

Next week’s AEW Dynamite will have a little bit of everything including a coffin match, two Owen Hart Tournament qualifiers, the show debut of Hook, and another “major announcement” by Tony Khan.
In the latest chapter of a feud that has been going for weeks, Darby Allin will take on Andrade El Idolo in a coffin match, the second-such match in company history.
Allin, Sting and the Hardys have been at odds with the Andrade Family Office as of late. Allin and Andrade had their first-ever singles match in late-March with Andrade picking up the win.
There was no hint as to what the announcement is to be made by Khan. The last time he made such a claim, it was in March when he announced that he had purchased Ring of Honor.
Both the men’s and women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournaments will get new entrants in a pair of qualifying matches.
Jungle Boy faces Kyle O’Reilly in a spillover from Wednesday’s AEW Tag Team title match, while former AEW Women’s Champion Britt Baker will get back to action for the first time since losing the title when she takes on former WWE NXT wrestler Danielle Kamela in her second AEW outing.
Hook will look to remain undefeated in his AEW Dynamite debut. No opponent was named, but based on Wednesday’s show, a meeting with Tony Nese awaits down the road.
After another round of interference cost MJF a win over Shawn Dean Wednesday, Wardlow will be put to work as he faces The Butcher. Wardlow is pushing to be let out of his contract with MJF, but MJF is refusing to do so.
Here’s the current lineup for Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania:
- Hook vs. TBA
- Wardlow vs. The Butcher
- Jungle Boy vs. Kyle O’Reilly in an Owen Hart Foundation Tournament men’s qualifying match
- Britt Baker vs. Danielle Kamela in an Owen Hart Foundation Tournament women’s qualifying match
