Cody Rhodes tells fan on Twitter to keep watching AEW Dynamite

Even though he is no longer with the company, former AEW vice president, multi-time TNT Champion and founding member Cody Rhodes isn’t discouraging fans from watching his old employer’s product.

Rhodes was replying to a fan who commented on a Fightful column by saying he wasn’t going to watch AEW programming after Rhodes announced he and his wife, Brandi, were moving on and not re-signing. This was the 36-year-old’s first public comment related to that news since making the news public Tuesday.

AEW didn’t address the situation or acknowledge either Rhodes family member’s departure on Wednesday’s Dynamite. It’s still unknown what barriers prevented the popular star from returning to a company he helped found with a loss of booking power pointed to as one reason, according to SI.com’s Justin Barrasso.

Earlier on Wednesday, it was also reported by Barrasso that according to his sources, Rhodes is signing with WWE, sans Brandi, and that he could be in Orlando as early as this weekend to film vignettes at the Performance Center.

If he indeed signs with WWE, it would be his first time in a Vince McMahon-owned ring since May 2016 when he was granted his requested release.
