CMLL announces new date for Toni Storm’s debut

A new date has been set for Toni Storm’s CMLL debut.

CMLL confirmed today that Storm will debut for the promotion against La Catalina at Arena Mexico this Friday night (October 18). The match was originally supposed to happen last week, but it had to be postponed due to travel issues that the AEW star faced in the wake of Hurricane Milton.

Storm’s scheduled flight out of Florida last week was canceled — and a new flight that would have allowed her to make the October 11 show was not able to be secured. CMLL issued a statement last Thursday announcing that, while Storm vs. La Catalina had to be postponed, they were working with both competitors to ensure that the match would still happen soon.

La Catalina — who formerly competed for WWE under the names Catalina and Katrina Cortez — instead teamed with Samantha Black to defeat Zeuxis & Dark Silueta at last Friday’s show.

This match is happening while Storm is on hiatus from AEW programming. She’s been away since dropping the AEW Women’s World Championship to Mariah May at All In this summer. Storm has said that she would like to get her rematch against May when AEW makes its Australia debut in February 2025.

Storm also recently competed for Stardom during her hiatus from AEW television.
