CM Punk vs. MJF set for AEW Dynamite

The match that has been weeks in the making finally will happen as the undefeated CM Punk will take on MJF as part of next Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite.

After verbally battling with MJF once again Wednesday in an exchange where MJF accepted the match for next week, Punk got laid out by all the members of The Pinnacle with chair shots and a Wardlow power bomb on a chair. The segment concluded with MJF mocking Punk by sitting cross legged on his chest.

The first time ever match will take place in Punk’s hometown of Chicago, the same city where Punk made his return to wrestling by debuting for AEW last August at the United Center followed by his first match back at September’s All Out against Darby Allin.

MJF has wrestled just once match this year, losing in a 47-second DQ to Shawn Dean thanks to Punk.

In the only other announced match, PAC will reunite with Death Triangle teammate Penta El Zero Miedo to take on Malakai Black and Brody King.

King made his surprise debut several weeks ago to save Black from Penta and the Varsity Blondes with the duo defeating the Blondes in tag action the following week. PAC is looking to gain a measure of revenge for Black injuring his eye on the December 3rd Rampage.

Here’s the current lineup from the Wintrust Arena:

  • CM Punk vs. MJF
  • PAC and Penta El Zero Miedo vs. Malakai Black and Brody King
