CM Punk vs. Jon Moxley World title unification match set for next AEW Dynamite

Originally said to be happening at AEW All Out during Wednesday’s Dynamite, the AEW World title will be unified next Wednesday instead as World Champion CM Punk will defend against interim World Champion Jon Moxley.

The two had two confrontations on Wednesday’s show with Moxley coming out during the second one to suggest they just do it tonight before being separated.

It’s unclear why they decided to move the match up from next month’s pay-per-view. Punk did call out Hangman Page in the show’s opening segment before turning his attention to Moxley.

This will be Punk’s first match since he injured his foot in a trios match on June 1st — just days after he defeated Page to win the AEW World title.

In another new singles match, FTR’s Dax Harwood will face Jay Lethal ahead of the new trios match made for All Out which will see FTR & Wardlow take on Lethal, Satnam Singh & Sonjay Dutt.

The two matches join the previously announced AEW Trios Championship tournament match between Death Triangle and Will Ospreay & Aussie Open.

Here’s the current lineup for next Wednesday in Cleveland, Ohio:

  • AEW World Champion CM Punk defends against interim World Champion Jon Moxley
  • AEW Trios title tourney match: Death Triangle vs. Will Ospreay & Aussie Open
  • Dax Harwood vs. Jay Lethal
