CM Punk suffered torn left triceps at AEW All Out

Former AEW World Champion CM Punk suffered a torn left triceps in his match with Jon Moxley at last Sunday’s All Out, according to Dave Meltzer.

Punk sustained the injury on a tope, but was able to finish the bout, defeating Moxley to regain the AEW World title.

Meltzer has not confirmed whether Punk has had surgery to repair the injury as of yet, nor the timetable of when he could be eligible to return.

Punk is believed to be suspended following the fight that broke out backstage after his portion of the post-All Out press conference where he called out Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks (calling them “the EVPs”) in addition to Hangman Page and Colt Cabana.

Regardless of the fight, the injury necessitated a need for an alternative plan for the World title.

Omega, Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson were among those involved in the fight that were suspended pending the outcome of an independent investigation.

At the onset of Wednesday’s Dynamite, AEW head Tony Khan didn’t reference the fight, nor any of those suspended, and said he was vacating both the World and Trios titles. Omega and the Bucks had just won the new Trios titles on Sunday.
