CM Punk still under AEW contract, ‘ready and willing to move to his next project’

CM Punk is “ready and willing to move to his next project.”
Dave Meltzer addressed the latest on Punk’s AEW status in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, noting the former world champion is still under contract and being paid by the promotion.
“Punk as of the weekend was still under contract to AEW and being paid and those close to him say the hold up on his being released is all on the AEW side as he’s ready and willing to move to his next project,” Meltzer wrote.
Following the November 23 Dynamite from Chicago, there was some speculation that The Elite mocking Punk/referencing All Out in their match was teasing a future Punk vs. Elite angle. However, It was also noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that those close to the situation say there is “no chance” of that happening.
According to a report from Sportskeeda, Punk is still expected to be included in the AEW Fight Forever video game. A release date for the game still has not been made public.
