CM Punk promo, Malakai Black vs. Lee Johnson set for AEW Rampage

Ahead of his first pro wrestling match in seven years at Sunday’s All Out, CM Punk will make another appearance on Friday’s AEW Rampage.

Punk appeared on Wednesday’s Dynamite and was interrupted by Daniel Garcia and 2point0 who ganged up on Punk before Darby Allin and Sting came out for the save. Punk, Allin and Sting all agreed they want the match to happen Sunday and Sting won’t be at ringside.

Allin will take on Garcia this Friday in a previously announced match.

The show will also feature the Rampage debut of Malakai Black as he takes on Lee Johnson. Johnson, a Nightmare Family member, came out at the end of last week’s Dynamite after Black made short work of Brock Anderson.

Like Anderson, he will be trying to avenge Black’s win over Cody Rhodes on the Homecoming edition of Dynamite that saw Black attack Rhodes from behind as he was preparing to announce his retirement.

Also announced for the show is a handicap match between Kris Statlander and the team of Rebel and Jamie Hayter. The latter two will be trying to soften the streaking Statlander ahead of her title challenge of Women’s Champion Britt Baker on Sunday.

TNT Champion Miro will also make an appearance as he continues to try to get a match with Eddie Kingston.

The full Friday Rampage lineup, live from the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois:

  • CM Punk appearance
  • Darby Allin vs. Daniel Garcia
  • Malakai Black vs. Lee Johnson
  • Kris Statlander vs. Rebel and Jamie Hayter handicap match
  • TNT Champion Miro appearance

The only thing announced for next Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite was that it’s Jon Moxley’s homecoming as the show will emanate from what is expected to be a sellout crowd in Cincinnati, Ohio. Moxley will face Satoshi Kojima this Sunday.
