CM Punk on MJF’s AEW return: ‘I’m tired of wrestling these pricks’

CM Punk said that he is “tired of wrestling these pricks” when asked about MJF’s return to AEW.

Speaking at a very newsworthy post-All Out media scrum, Punk was asked about MJF’s return to the company and their future World title matchup.

Punk said when asked if he had a message that he was looking to send MJF:

“I don’t know. I’m tired of wrestling these pricks. I’m tired of wrestling these kids that think they know everything.”

“But I’m not the boss. He won a number one contendership and I guess I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it.”

Punk continued and put over MJF’s talent, and also sent a message to anyone unhappy in AEW and perhaps looking to work elsewhere:

I think Max is a supremely talented individual. But this goes for him and anyone in the locker room who doesn’t want to be here: The grass is not greener on the other side. The grass is greener where you water it. And Max like to sh-t where he eats instead of watering the grass. So, we’ll have to see how that goes.”

MJF returned to the company after an apparent worked shoot walkout following May’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view event and a subsequent promo on the June 1 Dynamite where he insulted company president Tony Khan.

A supposed voicemail from Khan — explaining that his offer to MJF to return was made on behalf of the fans — was played at All Out just prior to MJF’s appearance in the show-closing angle.

For his part, Khan spoke about bringing MJF back as the right move for business and for the AEW fans:

“For the fans, I thought the best thing we could do as a company is bring MJF back.”
