Christian’s in-ring debut, Arcade Anarchy set for AEW Dynamite

The AEW in-ring debut of recent signing Christian Cage is set for next Wednesday’s Dynamite.

Cage will face Frankie Kazarian in his first non-WWE affiliated match since 2008. The 47-year-old recently signed with AEW and made his first appearance at this month’s Revolution pay-per-view. Kazarian confronted Cage during an interview segment in which he questioned when the “work” starts in Cage’s catchphrase. Cage said he was making his debut next week, but didn’t have an opponent which Kazarian accepted as an offer.

The show will also feature the first-ever Arcade Anarchy match as Kip Sabian and Miro will take on Orange Cassidy and Chuck Taylor. Arcade machines will surround the ring to be used as weapons. It’s a callback to when this feud first started as Taylor was thrown into an arcade machine Miro and Sabian were playing during a Best Friends match.

In a six-man tag coming out of Wednesday’s show, AEW World Champion Kenny Omega will team with The Good Brothers against the Lucha Brothers and Laredo Kid. After Kid, Penta El Zero M and Rey Fenix defeated Tag Team Champions the Young Bucks and Brandon Cutler, Omega came out and stomped Kid before confronting the Bucks. Afterward, Penta and Fenix superkicked Omega and left him laying before Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson came out.

Also announced:

  • Cody Rhodes vs. QT Marshall exhibition match: Marshall has been at odds with his Nightmare Family brethren lately, so this will be an exhibition with coach Arn Anderson as special guest referee to help work through the issues.
  • Women’s Champion Hikaru Shida and Tay Conti vs. Nyla Rose and The Bunny: This is another match born out of Wednesday as following Conti’s victory over Rose, Rose attacked Conti after the match which brought out Shida with a kendo stick. Bunny then ran out and attacked Shida.
