Christian Cage wins TNT title on AEW Collision

Christian Cage is officially the TNT Champion.

Cage defeated Luchasaurus and Darby Allin in a three-way match in the open of Saturday’s Collision to win the title for the first time. During the match, dissension was teased between Cage and Luchasaurus when Luchasaurus held onto the title, something Cage didn’t like. The finish had Allin hit the coffin drop on Luchasaurus but before he could go for the pin, Cage posted Allin sending him to the outside. Cage then pinned Luchasaurus to win the title for the first time.

After the match, Cage consoled Luchasaurus and the two settled their differences, with Luchasaurus lifting Cage in the air as he held the championship. Cage then cut a backstage promo saying he was done with Allin. However, Tony Schiavone informed him that he would defend the title against Darby Allin in a 2/3 falls match at WrestleDream next Sunday.

Since Luchasaurus won the title back on June 17, Cage had mostly retained possession of the title, saying that “they” were the champion. Cage issued the triple threat challenge to Allin on Friday’s Rampage Grand Slam, saying that if Allin wanted the match he would have to do it with Sting barred from ringside.
