Chris Jericho vs. Sammy Guevara official for AEW Dynamite Grand Slam

Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara will square off at AEW Dynamite Grand Slam on Wednesday, September 20.

Jericho and Guevara agreed to face one another at Dynamite Grand Slam during a promo segment on Friday’s AEW Rampage episode.

In the wake of The Jericho Appreciation Society rising up against Jericho, Guevara has been the only member of the group to maintain an alliance with Jericho as Jericho spent weeks teasing joining the Don Callis Family.

Guevara has helped Jericho win matches and continued to team with Jericho, including in a tag team victory over Aussie Open on this week’s Dynamite. The two were on opposite sides of a tag bout on the August 2 Dynamite as Jericho teamed with Callis’ charge Konosuke Takeshita, and dissension has continually been teased even as Jericho and Guevara have often found themselves on the same page.

Three matches have been announced for Dynamite Grand Slam set for Wednesday, September 20 at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, New York City.

The current lineup for Grand Slam:

  • AEW World Championship: MJF defends against winner of Grand Slam World title eliminator tournament (Penta El Zero Miedo, Samoa Joe, Roderick Strong, or Darby allin)
  • AEW Women’s World Championship: Saraya defends against winner of Grand Slam Women’s World title eliminator match (Toni Storm, Britt Baker, Hikaru Shida, or Nyla Rose)
  • Chris Jericho vs. Sammy Guevara
