Chris Jericho reveals positive COVID-19 test in ‘maybe’ September

This story was updated on Thursday at 9 AM Eastern.

On the most recent edition of his podcast, Chris Jericho said he had COVID-19 in “maybe” September.

Jericho made the admission during an interview with past Wrestling Observer Radio guest Dr. Alex Patel, saying he had zero symptoms but got a test just to get one. He said it wasn’t a false positive as he had three tests that all came back positive. He didn’t specify whether those were AEW adminstered tests.

He didn’t give any information on how he believed he got it, nor the timeframe in which he had it and was cleared. On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said he believed he got it from a family friend who had tested positive which is why he decided to get checked out.

If it was in September, he was on All Out and every episode of Dynamite that month although the company did have a mix of live and taped editions of the show. On the podcast, he said he spent ten days in isolation which would put his recovery time around the middle of the month.

Jericho said his virus antibodies are disappearing according to blood tests he gets as part of AEW’s screening process.

Last week, Nick Jackson of the Young Bucks said he got COVID-19 in early-September and in late-September, Lance Archer tested positive as well.
