Bryan Danielson vs. Anthony Bowens set for AEW Rampage

In a last-minute announcement for Friday’s live AEW Rampage from St. Louis, Missouri, Bryan Danielson will take on Anthony Bowens of The Acclaimed.
The match was made out of a social media storyline where Bowens tweeted in September that AEW head Tony Khan “placed a hit” on he and Max Caster when he took issue with the team and sent out the Varsity Blondes to lay them out. Caster did a late-October rap and in a tweet, challenged Khan to a tag team match at the Full Gear pay-per-view.
Khan responded Friday, saying that while he will never step into the ring, The Acclaimed have antagonized him for months so he was going to make an announcement about their status on Rampage, followed by the announcement of the match.
“I must admit I may take some personal satisfaction from this. Am I a horrible boss Anthony? Or are you going to get your f’n head kicked in TONIGHT on TNT?,” he tweeted.
Danielson will be looking to keep his momentum going heading into next Saturday’s PPV when he faces Miro in the AEW World title eliminator tournament finals.
