Britt Baker says she’s “so damn proud” of how hard Adam Cole worked to come back from injury.

Cole returned to AEW in an unadvertised segment on Wednesday’s edition of Dynamite. He hasn’t wrestled since AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door on June 26, 2022 where he is believed to have suffered a concussion during the IWGP Heavyweight Championship four-way match.

Baker took to Twitter on Thursday to comment on her partner’s return. She wrote:

For months the only time @AdamColePro left the house was to go to bran/physical therapy appointments. There was a time he wasn’t allowed to fly on planes or do anything more than go for a walk. I’m so damn proud of how hard he worked every single day to get back to you all.

Cole responded by writing:

Thanks for being in my corner every step of the way. Couldn’t have done it without you

During his promo on Wednesday, Cole spoke about some of the challenges he’s faced over the past few months.

Cole said:

The past few months, I was really, really banged up everybody. I had a shoulder that was torn to shreds. More importantly, I had two back-to-back very serious head injuries.

I’m going to be honest, I was really, really scared. I was seeing doctors multiple times a week, I was getting MRIs done to my brain. I had headaches, I had dizzy spells multiple times a day. If I was in a car for more than 15 minutes I felt like, and sometimes did, vomit.

But the worst part was the sleep because I would lay there, emotions all over the place, anxiety high, and I couldn’t figure out why. I’d have to get up at three, four in the morning and pace back and forth, my heart racing out of my chest. Britt would wake up and go, ‘oh my god, are you okay? What’s wrong?’ And I would look at her with a tear in my eye and say, ‘I don’t know what’s happening to me.’

Cole would continue to thank fans for writing him supportive messages during his time away. He then said that he was cleared to return and that is bad news for everyone on the AEW roster.
