AEW’s Tony Khan hints at debuts over next few weeks

More new faces may be on their way to AEW TV sooner than later as company head Tony Khan hinted at such in an interview released Tuesday.
Talking with DAZN to help promote Wednesday’s Winter Is Coming edition of Dynamite, Khan was asked if fans should expected debuts or surprises given Sting’s appearance at last year’s event.
“I’m more than aware that there’s a number of free agents out there, wrestlers I admire too, but I’ve got to say that you just have to keep watching over these next few weeks and not just Winter Is Coming,” he said.
Wednesday’s Dynamite is followed by the Holiday Bash edition from Greensboro, North Carolina; the New Year’s Smash edition from Jacksonville, Florida, the week after; Dynamite’s debut on new TV home TBS the week after from Newark, New Jersey; and their first-ever Battle of the Belts on Saturday, January 8th from Charlotte, North Carolina.
Khan has been aggressive with signing former WWE and Ring of Honor talents looking for a new home over the last few months including Bryan Danielson, Ruby Soho, Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, Tony Nese and Jay Lethal while giving opportunities on Dark and Dark: Elevation to Josh Woods, Marina Shafir, Anthony Greene, Tiger Ruas and Anthony Henry among others.
“I want AEW to run shows that you just can’t miss and I think these next few weeks are going to be really exciting for fans of wrestling,” he said.
