AEW’s Owen Hart Cup tournaments to begin early next year

AEW announced that both of the Owen Hart Cup tournaments would begin early next year.

Tonight’s Dynamite showed a video with footage of Hart wrestling in New Japan Pro Wrestling, and also showed home videos of Hart with his family. AEW stars such as Mark Henry, Matt Hardy, and Adam Cole, among others, talked about their experiences with Hart. AEW then confirmed that the Owen Hart Cup, which consists of both a men’s and women’s tournament, would take place early next year.

The finals of both tournaments will take place at Double or Nothing in May, with the widow of Hart, Dr. Martha Hart, presenting the winners with the Owen Hart Cup.

Both AEW and Martha Hart’s Owen Hart Foundation announced a partnership in September that established the tournaments, as well as other merchandise including action figures, apparel, and other collectables. In addition, Owen Hart will be included in the upcoming AEW console video game.
