AEW’s Hikaru Shida returning to Ice Ribbon for March event

Hikaru Shida will take part in Ice Ribbon’s show at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo on March 20.

The announcement came during today’s Ice Ribbon event in the same venue. A video message from Shida played on the video wall during the event. Shida requested a tag team reunion with former partner Tsukasa Fujimoto at the March show. The duo previously held Ice Ribbon’s International Ribbon Tag Team Championship together on three separate occasions.

The March return will mark Shida’s first match with Ice Ribbon since a December 2018 loss to Risa Sera.

The day prior, Shida will wrestle at Tokyo Joshi Pro-Wrestling’s Grand Princess ’22 event at Sumo Hall in Ryogoku. Shida is set to take on Hikari Noa at the show,

Shida went on hiatus from AEW last month and returned to Japan where she has also taken part in the MAKAI Genesis stage, theater and dance production, playing Princess Tsuru.

A former AEW Women’s World Champion, Shida was written out of AEW storylines after a loss to Serena Deeb in January. Shida had defeated Deeb in the TBS Championship tournament first round, but Deeb then attacked Shida, leading to a storyline injury which hampered her in a quarterfinals loss to Nyla Rose.
