AEW’s Anna Jay underwent surgery on Thursday to repair her shoulder injury.
“Hi everyone 🙂 I just got out of my shoulder surgery, and all is well,” Jay wrote on social media. “For the next two days I will most likely sleep and eat only ice cream and soup. But after that…I will be working my ass off in any way I can. Thanks for all of the support and well wishes. -99”
AEW announced last month that Jay had suffered a shoulder injury in training. It was stated that she’s expected to be out of action for 6-12 months.
Jay is a member of The Dark Order in AEW. She was supposed to take part in the promotion’s Women’s title eliminator tournament but was pulled from the tournament due to her shoulder injury. Jay was going to face Britt Baker in a first round match on the United States side of the bracket. Ryo Mizunami won the tournament and unsuccessfully challenged for Hikaru Shida’s AEW Women’s Championship at Revolution this past Sunday.
Jay debuted for AEW in April of last year and signed with the promotion shortly after.
