AEW wrestler confirms taking time off following All In
Thunder Rosa is taking time off.
In Friday’s edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer mentioned that Rosa is injured, although the exact nature of her injury has not been revealed.
Rosa posted a video to her YouTube channel on Sunday covering her AEW All In weekend in Texas. At the end of the video, she noted she is taking some time off.
“The weekend was long. Today was All In. Didn’t get the results that I wanted and I got some time off. To be continued,” Rosa said in the video.
She later added, “It was a lot of work. It was mission accomplished and you guys were, again, a big part of it. And now I deserve a well, well, well-earned resting time. Resting time, time off, who knows?”
Rosa unsuccessfully challenged Athena for the ROH Women’s World Championship at ROH Supercard of Honor on July 11. She also took part in the Casino Gauntlet match at AEW All In: Texas the following day.
The mention of Rosa being injured in the 7/28 Observer Newsletter was in a paragraph about Britt Baker’s status with AEW, rather than being its own report. Meltzer wrote:
“AEW announced Dynamite on 9/24 in Pittsburgh a the Petersen Events Center. Whatever the Britt Baker deal really is, if she’s not on this show, I’d think she’d never be back. Plus, with injures to both Jamie Hayter and Thunder Rosa, it’s not like spots haven’t opened up on the women’s side.”
