Anthony Henry undergoes surgery for torn biceps

AEW/ROH wrestler Anthony Henry is beginning his road to recovery following biceps surgery.

After tearing his biceps earlier this month, Henry underwent surgery today to repair the injury. “Surgery was successful,” he posted on social media. “Now time to recovery.”

The injury happened on October 3 when Henry faced NJPW Strong Champion Gabe Kidd in a match that was taped for ROH television. Before the match aired last week, Henry revealed that he tore his left biceps off the bone and would be out of action for the “foreseeable future.” A more precise timeline for when he’ll be able to return has not been announced.

Henry and his tag team partner JD Drake were scheduled to face FTR for indie promotion Deadlock Pro Wrestling in North Carolina this past Sunday. Because of Henry’s injury, the match was changed to FTR facing Violence is Forever (Dominic Garrini & Kevin Ku).

Recently, the 40-year-old Henry has been teaming with Beef (formerly known as Gnarls Garvin) in AEW/ROH while Drake was out of action due to a torn foot ligament.
