AEW, Tony Khan now holding regular backstage production meetings

A change has been made backstage in AEW.
According to our own Bryan Alvarez, the promotion is now holding regular production meetings backstage to go over aspects of the shows. Alvarez posted to his subscribers on X:
“I’ll talk more about it on WOL today, but Tony Khan has been doing actual production meetings for awhile now, getting the top agents, announcers, etc., all in a room together to go over things before the shows.”
Alvarez also addressed the situation on Tuesday’s episode of Wrestling Observer Live, explaining that while meetings were held previously to address production issues, they weren’t what many would consider actual production meetings.
Alvarez explained:
“Tony (Khan’s) production meeting was, well, I go and I meet with these guys and then I go meet with these guys and then I go meet with these guys, and then I talk to this agent. He just did these meetings throughout the day and that was what he considered production meetings.”
“Other people were like, that’s not a production meeting. So the point of this is, of late, he actually is now doing production meetings.”
Alvarez also clarified that this change was made months ago. Khan still meets with people individually but brings together a small core group of people backstage before shows.
“He’ll get the announcers in there, he’ll get the agents in there, he’ll get some of his executives in there. And in a room together, they will go over the show. “
Tuesday episodes of Wrestling Observer Live are hosted by Alvarez and Lance Storm. Full episodes are available on-demand after they air for subscribers.
