AEW reveals new Women’s World title belt at Revolution

AEW revealed a brand-new Women’s World title belt at Sunday’s Revolution with Britt Baker later becoming the first-ever woman to wear it.

Thanks to repeated outside interference from Rebel and Jamie Hayter, Baker defeated Thunder Rosa Sunday to retain the gold. Rosa had both a visual pin and a visual tapout on Baker negated thanks to the interference.

After Rosa speared Rebel off the apron and then clotheslined Hayter, Baker caught her with a curb stomp on the way back into the ring to get the pin.

The new belt becomes the third in the Women’s World division history. After Riho won the inaugural version in 2019, a slightly updated version was created in 2021 to commemorate Hikaru Shida’s one-year run as champion. It was bigger with more diamonds, gold plating and two fewer side plates.

Riho, Nyla Rose, Shida and Baker are the only Women’s World titleholders in AEW’s short history while Jade Cargill is still the only TBS titleholder in that division’s even younger history.
