AEW reveals full list of entrants for Continental Classic tournament


The competitors for AEW’s Continental Classic have been announced.
Tony Khan and Tony Schiavone revealed the 12 participants during a YouTube special on Wednesday. The field has been split into two groups, the Blue Group and the Gold Group.
Blue Group:
- Bryan Danielson
- Andrade El Idolo
- Brody King
- Claudio Castagnoli
- Daniel Garcia
- Eddie Kingston
Gold Group:
- Jon Moxley
- Swerve Strickland
- Rush
- Mark Briscoe
- Jay Lethal
- Jay White
Three Gold Group matches were announced for tonight’s Dynamite:
- Rush vs. Jay White
- Swerve Strickland vs. Jay Lethal
- Jon Moxley vs. Mark Briscoe
Two Blue Group matches were announced for Saturday’s episode of AEW Collision in Pittsburgh:
- Daniel Garcia vs. Claudio Castagnoli
- Eddie Kingston vs. Brody King
All matches will have a 20-minute time limit. Three points are awarded for a win, one for a draw, and none for a loss. No one is allowed at ringside. The winners of each group will meet in the finals at AEW Worlds End on December 30.
Khan confirmed the tournament winner will be the Triple Crown Champion, holding the ROH World title, NJPW Strong title, and a new AEW Continental title.
Tonight’s episode of Dynamite takes place from Chicago’s Wintrust Arena. The lineup is below:
- Continental Classic Gold Group match: Rush vs. Jay White
- Continental Classic Gold Group match: Swerve Strickland vs. Jay Lethal
- Continental Classic Gold Group match: Jon Moxley vs. Mark Briscoe
- Christian Cage rechristens Luchasaurus and Nick Wayne
