AEW Dynamite live results: All Star eight-man tag

AEW Dynamite airs live tonight from Norfolk, Virginia with an eight-man tag featuring Kenny Omega and Kazuchika Okada in the same bout for the first time in over two years.
In the All Star eight-man tag, International Champion Omega teams with Mark Briscoe, Kevin Knight, and Mike Bailey against The Young Bucks (Matthew and Nicholas Jackson), Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada, and Ricochet.
Okada and Omega teamed at NJPW New Year Dash on January 5, 2023 in Japan, but have not been on opposing teams since a September 2018 Omega and Kota Ibushi vs. Okada and Tomohiro Ishii tag bout in Long Beach, California on an NJPW show.
The second men’s semifinals matchup in the Owen Hart Foundation tournament will also take place on tonight’s show, with Hangman Page facing Kyle Fletcher. The winner moves on to the tournament finals at Double or Nothing on May 25 to face Will Ospreay in the finals. The men’s tournament winner will challenge for the AEW World title at All In on July 12.
AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm will face Miyu Yamashita in a World title eliminator but on tonight’s show.
Appearances from AEW Tag Team Champions The Hurt Syndicate, and MJF are also scheduled for tonight’s episode.

AEW Dynamite comes on the air with Excalibur welcoming us alongside Tony Schiavone & Taz as they kick things off with the intros for the All Star 8-Man Tag, starting with Mark Briscoe.
AEW International Champion Kenny Omega, Speedball Mike Bailey, Kevin Knight & Mark Briscoe vs. AEW Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada, Ricochet & The Young Bucks (Matthew & Nicholas Jackson)
(The first time Okada & Omega have been on opposing sides in a match since 2018 and I’m glad they really treated this like a big deal that they’re finally able to get around to, as the slow build to All In ramps up. This was exactly what you’d expect out of a near 30 minute party match with this caliber of participants involved. Excalibur referenced Reseda, as this is what you’d see during a BOLA weekend for PWG circa 2015 (which is something I’ve mentioned a few weeks ago in a similar match). Knight & Bailey more than held their own with the established AEW names and I’m glad they’re consistently included in with this group.)
Excalibur drove home the history of Omega & Okada during entrances and how this is something everyone has wanted to see in AEW since Okada signed with the company. Both men had an intense face-off prior to the bell and it looked like they would start the match, but Okada bailed and the heels all attacked from behind. Nicholas & Omega officially started and Nicholas wore down the arm, as Matthew had his back turned and kept blindly smashing the arm down of Omega over the top. It worked three times, but Ricochet went to the well one time too many, Omega fed Ricochet’s arm to Matthew, who, after smashing it down, finally realized it was his bald partner. The miscommunication was long enough for Omega to make the tag, as Ricochet suffered locomotion corner splashes, but fought free to tag Nicholas. Briscoe in and ramped up the offense, as we get an 8-way of missed elbow drops, leading to a stalemate. The Bucks tried a Crane Kick pose to Bailey & Knight, who struck the pose and kicked The Bucks right in the face, leading to commercial.
Back from break, Ricochet & Matthew did locomotion Northern Lights on Bailey & Knight, as Matthew leaned back and let Ricochet know what it’s like to have hair, but still got “You’re Still Bald” chants. Matthew & Ricochet both unsuccessfully called for brainbusters, Okada tried as well, but Bailey’s team saved him. The Elite & Ricochet tried a quadruple brainbuster, but were quadruple suplexed for their troubles. Quad slingshot dives by Omega, Knight, Bailey & Briscoe, as Knight & Bailey double teamed Okada back inside with a missile dropkick. Knight fired off clotheslines on Nicholas, who followed with a standing hurricanrana out of the corner for two. Knight tried a leaping splash, but Nicholas got the knees up. Omega tagged in, charged at Okada, who bailed, tripped up Omega with Nicholas on the apron. Omega & Bailey were both hung up on the ropes and apron, as Nicholas & Ricochet hit stereo 450/Swantons heading to another commercial break.
Omega was isolated during break, as all his teammates legs were swept out right as he leapt for a tag, but was ultimately planted by a Matthew DDT. Omega dodged a Ricochet springboard 450, leading Omega dunking his head to the mat, allowing Briscoe to make the hot tag and fire off Redneck Kung-Fu on The Bucks. Knight & Bailey sprinted in and took out The Bucks, as Okada ate a High/Low before Bailey did a Triangle Moonsault and Knight cleared the post for a dive outside. Fisherman’s Buster by Briscoe, but Okada kicked out at two. Jay Driller countered into the Air Raid Crash on the knee by Okada, who followed with the top rope elbow. Rainmaker flip-off pose turned to Omega, as Bailey literally kicked the finger away before doing a lighting quick sequence of kick counters with Nicholas. The match ramps up, as Nicholas caught Bailey with a superkick, Knight leap frogged both Bucks into a Pele kick, but suffered a Ricochet double stomp. Briscoe was there for an Exploder, but Okada met him with a John Woo dropkick, leaving Omega & Okada to finally face-off.
They slug it out, as Omega avoided a dropkick, Okada dodged One Winged Angel, but a Snap Dragon from Omega successfully hit. Omega wanted V-Trigger, but ran right into a signature Okada dropkick. Omega ducked Rainmaker, but ran right into a Superkick Party from The Bucks. Everyone in, as Bailey & Knight are down, Omega & Briscoe are in the Tombstone position, as Nicholas & Ricochet leapt off with a dropkick into a senton as the double Tombstone hit. EVP Trigger dodged by Briscoe, who sent The Bucks & Ricochet flying outside, as Okada tried a blindside Rainmaker, but Briscoe countered into a Jay Driller for two, as Ricochet broke it up. Ricochet went up top, but Bailey cut him off, got him on his shoulders, as Knight hit a wild standing dropkick that sent Ricochet backflipping onto The Bucks outside. Omega hit the Terminator Dive onto the pile, as Briscoe hit a Rolling DVD on Okada, wanted a Froggy Bow, but Ricochet crotched him, allowing Okada to hit a Rainmaker for the win.
Winners: Kazuchika Okada, Ricochet & The Young Bucks when Okada pinned Briscoe
-The Hurt Syndicate arrive backstage with a bunch of folks chanting for them, as MVP said what’s more fun than hearing they hurt people is actually doing it. They beat the hell out of about 6 guys before MVP wants to address the elephant in the room. Benjamin tells Lashley to trust MVP, as MJF is funny and asks how the new car is? Lashley said he can buy his own damn car, but MVP reiterated that if MJF screws them, they’ll hurt him like he’s never been hurt before. That put a smile on Lashley’s face as they seem to be on the same page.

AEW Trios Champions The Opps (Samoa Joe, Katsuyori Shibata & Powerhouse Hobbs) vs. Myles Hawkins, Rhett Titus & Nick Comoroto
Former ROH TV/Tag Champion Titus kicked things off with Joe, who lit him up relentlessly with strikes and enzugiri in the corner before tagging Shibata. Titus was tossed to his corner, as the former Factory member Comoroto (making his in ring return after 9 months due to hip resurfacing surgery) tagged in, engaged in a chop battle, lost and quickly tagged in Hawkins. Hobbs made the tag to a nice reaction and repeatedly hit knees to the midsection and snap powerslam. Taz brought up how HOOK is recuperating more and more each day and will take care of business when the time is right. The straps are lowered by Hobbs, who hit a brutal spinebuster on Hawkins to get the win.
Commentary mentioned multiple times that Samoa Joe will challenge for the AEW Title against Jon Moxley in two weeks at Beach Break, as right on cue Death Riders sprinted into the ring post-match and briefly attacked, as Joe sank in a Kokina Clutch on the ramp. As Joe’s attention was turned, Claudio Castagnoli set-up a chair in the ring and delivered a Neutralizer onto Shibata (commentary told us this was how HOOK was taken out, even though it wasn’t) before Joe could get back to the ring. Death Riders bailed, as Hobbs & Joe recovered to check on Shibata. Joe took the mic and screamed at Moxley, but they just kept walking out of the arena.
Joe said Moxley likes to come out and act like a boss, but when they throw hands, he acts like a little bitch. Moxley begged for Joe weeks ago, but all he’s trying to do is give Moxley what he wants. Joe said let’s give the people what they want, if Joe is going to fight for the AEW Title, let’s do it in a Steel Cage. His name is Samoa Joe and he will be your next AEW World Champion.
Winners: The Opps
-Renee Paquette sits down backstage with Mercedes Mone, as mentions how one year ago, she said she was on a mission and a year later, she’s a global champion. Paquette brings up the Owen Hart Foundation Finals at Double or Nothing against Jamie Hayter. Mone said she could go on about the legacy of the Harts and Owen, but this is about her legacy. She won her title a year ago at Double or Nothing, what makes you think this year won’t be different? Paquette mentions Mone possibly underestimating Hayter, who is bigger and stronger. Mone said she’s been undefeated since arriving in AEW a year ago and has beaten the best all over the globe, she’s 4 belts Mone and runs on her time. Every time she steps into the ring, she makes history, but puts over Hayter for being scrappy and tough, but insults her Scooby Doo style and a champion can’t look like a cartoon.

-Renee Paquette is backstage with The Patriarchy and brings up Nick Wayne representing AEW in the Best of Super Juniors next week when Christian Cage cut her off and said all questions should go through him. Jay Lethal interrupted and said he’s not here to talk to Cage, but to the champ, Nick. Lethal said he has a bright future, but a lot still to prove and challenges him to a match tonight, the longest reigning ROH Champion in history against the youngest champion in ROH history? Nick said he’s not sure, he’s not warmed up, but Cage accepts immediately.
AEW Women’s Champion Timeless Toni Storm (w/Luther) vs. Mayu Yamashita in a Title Eliminator Match
(I thought this was a very good, albeit too short of a battle, as Yamashita got in a good amount of offense, but Storm was just too much. I’m glad they showed Yamashita highlights before the match and also included her being one of the very few who have won Title Eliminator matches in the past. I’m assuming this was just a one off for Yamashita, who I wouldn’t mind being involved with the AEW women’s roster going forward. I’m glad they’re taking the time given leading up the PPV to tease who could be the one to face Storm at All In, Hayter or Mone.)
We get a pre-match video package of Storm at the TCM Film Festival issuing the Eliminator challenge to any bitch that has the itch. Yamashita answers the challenge and we get highlights of her time in Japan, including her Eliminator win against Thunder Rosa a few years again at a TJPW show.
Both shake hands before Storm works over the arm, but Yamashita responds with kicks. Thesz Press from Storm, who unloads right hands to stand tall. Backbreaker and snap suplex led to Storm going up top, but was cut off with a high kick to the face, sending Storm outside. Storm blocked a PK and swept out the leg on the apron, as Storm tried a hip attack, but missed and was wedged between the ropes. Yamashita literally kicked Storm’s ass until Luther stepped in and suffered the same fate, as Taz told her to stop, as he’s an old man.
It was all Yamashita during break, who hit a Return Crush kick out of the corner, until Storm tried making a comeback, only Yamashita walked through the strikes. Roundhouse decked Storm, who dodged a second one into a snap release German Suplex. Storm charged for Sweet Cheek Music, but ran right into a Skull Kick for a close two. Yamashita signaled for Crush Rabbit Heat, but Storm cut her off with a choke bomb for two of her own. Fisherman’s Suplex with a high bridge gets Storm another near fall, as she wanted Storm Zero, but Yamashita spun out into an Attitude Adjustment. Buzzsaw Kick followed, but Storm dodged a running knee into another snap German, sending Yamashita to the corner. Sweet Cheek Music levels Yamashita, as Storm puts her away with Storm Zero for the win.
Post-match, Mercedes Mone struts out and tells the Norfolk crowd to shut up and say hello to your CEO. After Mone beats Hayter for the Owen Cup, she’s coming for what’s hers, the AEW Women’s Title. Jamie Hayter’s music hits and she decks Mone, wanted a Hayter-ade, but Mone ducked and scurried away. Storm looked impressed by Hayter before opting to writhe around to Hayter’s rave theme song, which was hysterical.
Winner: Timeless Toni Storm
-The Don Callis Family are backstage and said he likes making history, which is what Takeshita & Josh Alexander did last week when they put down Will Ospreay & Brody King. Callis said they’ll make history again tonight, as Fletcher will do the same thing to Hangman Page before Fletcher moves on to Double or Nothing and finally ends Ospreay once and for all. Fletcher said when he beats Page tonight and Ospreay in the Finals, he’ll go on and win the AEW World Title and everyone will be forced to say his name. Callis said allow him and screamed The Protostar Kyle Fletcher!
The Hurt Syndicate Votes on MJF…Again
The Hurt Syndicate make their way to the ring, as MVP brings up in order to bring in another member into the fold, they must give 3 thumbs up, so we’re going to try this one more time and they invite MJF to the ring. Similar to last week, MJF puts over Benjamin & MVP before getting a Bob chant from the crowd, asking if he had a good car ride in? MVP immediately wants to get to the vote. MVP & Benjamin both give quick thumbs up until Lashley really toys with his decision before giving a thumbs down. MJF said he’s about sick of Bob’s sh*t and asks what he wants? MJF has given him women, cars, helped him winning matches and asks if all he wants as some Rogaine and called him a big, bald son of a bitch. Lashley grabs MJF by the face and backs him to the corner, as MJF screams for MVP to save him. Lashley said if MJF wants to prove himself, then he has to hurt people like they do. MJF looked terrified, as The Hurt Syndicate walks off before glancing back at the entrance tunnel, with MVP having to hold Lashley back.
-Footage of last week and Stokely Hathaway joining up with FTR was shown. Hathaway said in 2024, he was looking for a tag team and now he’s found one. Hathaway said people have asked what a team like FTR would have to do with him, but look at what has happened in recent weeks with everyone they’ve taken out. FTR will cement their legacy and win back their AEW World Tag Team Championships.
ROH TV Champion Nick Wayne (w/The Patriarchy) vs. Jay Lethal
Wayne was out alone, but his entrance was cut-off by Christian Cage, who walked out with Kip Sabian & Mother Wayne. Taz said Cage has always been a douche, it’s just now, he’s a bigger douche. Lethal & Nick trade headlock takedowns and head scissor escapes before Wayne regrouped outside, where Cage whispered advice. We get chants for Mother Wayne, as back inside, Nick fired off chops, but Lethal dodged a float over into arm drags and snap dropkick. Nick rolled outside, as Lethal tried a Tope, but pretty much just shoved Nick back, as he rolled through and hit a hurricanrana to answer. Lethal was driven into the steps, as Nick was in control heading into break.
Lethal got in a few pin attempts before connecting on Lethal Combination for a near fall. Lethal went up top, but took too long, as Nick cut him off, wanted a superplex, but Lethal fought free and successfully hit the elbow, everyone thought, but Nick caught him into a cradle for two. Lethal tried Lethal Injection, but Nick raked the eyes, hit a roundhouse kick and Fisherman’s Buster for the win.
Post-match, Cage held onto the ROH TV Title and Nick tried to take it away, but Cage told him to turn around so he can put it on him. Sabian & Mother Wayne applauded, as did Cage, who smirked while giving a golf clap before leaving.
Winner: Nick Wayne
-Excalibur informs us that it’s official, in 2 weeks at Beach Break, Jon Moxley vs. Samoa Joe for the AEW World Title will take place in a Steel Cage.
Hangman Adam Page vs. Kyle Fletcher (w/Don Callis & Lance Archer) in an Owen Hart Foundation Semifinal
(Fantastic main event, which should surprise no one, as the crowd was loudly into this and on their feet for a good part of it. Fletcher had his close calls and almost stole it at the end, but the combo of Buckshot variations was a cool visual and way to end this. The men’s Owen Hart Finals are now set and it’ll be a first-time meeting between Hangman Page & Will Ospreay, in what should be a phenomenal end to this year’s tournament.)
Page power walked to the ring for an intense face-off before the bell, as commentary talked about how Page was from Halifax, not too far from Norfolk. Callis joined the crew and immediately called Page a scumbag, as he fired off an early chop and Fletcher took a powder. Fletcher back in, pulled the hair and mocked riding Page like a cowboy, so Page escaped, spanked Fletcher and clocked him with a right hand. Page quickly wanted a Buckshot, but Fletcher again went outside, only this time, Page sprinted into the camera shot, clotheslining Fletcher over the barricade into commercial.
Back from break, we see Fletcher was bleeding from the lower back and a replay shows it was from Page whipping him into the LED barricade. Back inside, Page no sold kicks to the chest, wanted Dead Eye, Fletcher avoided, charged, but was turned inside out by a Page lariat. Big back body drop by Page, who followed with a sliding lariat and caught a leap frogging Fletcher into a DVD for two. Repeated corner clotheslines from Page, who hit a fall away slam, sending Fletcher to the apron, as Page connected with his springboard lariat. Page wanted the Moonsault, but Fletcher swept out the leg, hit an enzugiri, thrust kick and violent brainbuster on the apron. They both fight on top of the barricade, where Page slams Fletcher off, then does a moonsault off into a Tombstone in a visually awesome sequence that took things to another commercial break.
Things return right as Page delivers a huge superplex for a double down. Both rise and trade kicks until Page swung for the fences and decked Fletcher right upside the head. Fletcher answered with a snap German, but ran into a pop-up Liger Bomb for two. Page wanted Dead Eye, Fletcher floated out with a big boot, wanted a powerbomb of his own, Page flipped out and hit Dead Eye for a close two. Page tried a Moonsault, but Fletcher got the boots up to the face and hit a sit-out Last Ride for a near fall of his own. Running corner boot connects by Fletcher, but Page floated over a brainbuster into an O’Connor Roll for two. Page wanted a Buckshot, but Fletcher exploded with another charging boot. Both are on the apron again, this time Page hitting another Dead Eye. Page followed with a huge Moonsault, as he wanted a Buckshot, but Fletcher shoved referee Paul Turner out of the way and hit a low kick on Page before delivering a Brainbuster, but Page kicked out to a huge crowd pop.
Callis is losing his mind on commentary, as Fletcher again hit a charging corner boot before taking Page up in the corner. Fletcher wanted his top rope Brainbuster, but Page clotheslined his way out and did a Buckshot variation out of the corner before hitting a proper one to finally put Fletcher away.
Winner: Hangman Adam Page to advance to the Owen Hart Foundation Finals
