AEW Dynamite episode 250 comes on the air with Excalibur, Tony Schiavone & the returning Taz welcoming us, as we go to the entrances for our opening title match of the evening.
MJF defeated Will Ospreay at 59:58 to win the AEW International Title
(An all timer between two of the biggest stars in the business, as this absolutely sets the stage for a rematch at Wembley. Ospreay’s lack of killer instinct at the very last moment cost him everything, as MJF did what was necessary to steal the win and the title. This was a phenomenal match, one of the best we’ve seen on Dynamite and I can’t wait to see this match again.)
Bell sounded and MJF immediately bailed into the crowd, throwing water, flipping them off and tearing up a sign. Back inside, a Fargo Strut off led to an incredibly fast sequence of counters and dodging of home run shots led to the stalemate. MJF sent to the floor, as Ospreay connected on a somersault dive before heading back in for a stun gun, big boot, back suplex combo for two. MJF suckered Ospreay into the corner and took control, working over the left arm. Both men traded back suplex attempts, but MJF turned one into a great looking stunner for a near fall. Heatseeker attempt blocked, but MJF hit a slingshot stunner for another two. MJF tried it again, but Ospreay avoided into Pip, Pip, Cheerio for the reset. Ospreay started building momentum and gets the Sasuke Special, as back inside MJF dodged two moonsaults, but Ospreay landed on his feet each time and hit a standing Shooting Star Press before following up with a Sky Twister Press for two.
MJF bailed outside again, but Ospreay quickly hit another dive and cleaned off the time keepers table, setting it up ringside. MJF worked the leg and sank in a Figure Four, but Ospreay ultimately got the ropes. MJF tried Irish whips, but Ospreay continuously crumbled, as MJF dove for a chop block. Ospreay fought back with Kawada kicks, but both men same idea and collided with a double clothesline into a double down. MJF up first and almost hit a kitchen sink to the knee, but Ospreay countered a brainbuster into a Stundog Millionaire and Oscutter, but MJF rolled to the floor. With both on the apron, MJF dodged an Oscutter and Ospreay told referee Bryce his shoulder is out as things went to commercial with Ospreay being attacked by MJF before doctors could check on him.
Back from break, MJF cut off an Ospreay handspring and hit an underhook shoulder breaker before following with Made in Japan for two. MJF opted to trash talk the fans, allowing Ospreay to hit a desperation handspring Pele kick for another double down. Ospreay did a one-handed cartwheel into an enzugiri before hitting a spinning Torture Rack bomb for two. MJF tried bailing through the crowd, but Ospreay was quick after, holding MJF so a little girl could punch him a few times. Ospreay dumped MJF into a trash can before MJF stumbled back ringside. Despite being gone from the ring for a few minutes, Ospreay mockingly broke the count before setting up MJF on the table. Ospreay went up top, but MJF moved back to the ring before the dive could happen. Series of pin attempts broke up by an Ospreay Poison Rana, but MJF hit a corner superkick into the Long Island Sunrise for a close two.
Ospreay was set up on the table, but rolled off this time and managed an Oscutter off the railing before going back to the ring. Ospreay countered Cross Rhodes into one of his own, as he winked at the camera before it happened. MJF went to the eyes, double stomped the back arm and hit a wrist clutch DDT for two. Ospreay avoided Heat Seeker, but MJF crotched a springing Ospreay and hit a wild lariat. Both traded Tombstone attempts on the apron, as Ospreay hit a Styles Clash on the edge of the ring. One armed powerbomb got an Ospreay near fall, as we go to another commercial break, as Ospreay had his shoulder checked by the doctor, who seemed to pull the shoulder back in place.
Back from break, Ospreay hit a flying back elbow for two, as a combo of kicks led to MJF countering Oscutter into a Tombstone for two. MJF continued to work the arm and mock Ospreay, who backdropped MJF to the floor. MJF swept the leg and trash talked the camera, allowing Ospreay to hit a suicide Hidden Blade. Pip, Pip, Cheerio back inside by Ospreay, who took too long in the corner and crotched by MJF, who wanted a hurricanrana, but Ospreay countered into an Avalanche Styles Clash, but MJF got the rope break. MJF wrenched the bad arm and hit a Heat Seeker before setting Ospreay up on the table, as MJF hit a huge elbow off the top through it as they go to a third commercial.
We return to MJF working an abdominal stretch, but referee Bryce kicked the arm off the ropes for another reset. Quick pin attempts from Ospreay, who tried a leap frog, but MJF hit a nasty powerbomb on his knee for two. MJF went for a Kangaroo Kick, but Ospreay blocked into Cheeky Nandos, tried a corner Poison Rana, but MJF landed on his feet. MJF tried a corner rana of his own, but Ospreay landed on his feet. Both flip out of shots before MJF mocked the crowd and ate a hook kick. Crazy sequence of counters led to a wall walk enzugiri and series of rolling pin attempts. Thrust kick in mid air by MJF to avoid the Oscutter, but Ospreay hit another Stundog and Spanish Fly for two. Ospreay took too long in the corner, where MJF wanted an Avalanche Tombstone, but Ospreay countered into a springboard Oscutter and Hidden Blade for two. Ospreay missed a home run shot, MJF spat in his face, as Ospreay yelled Tiger Driver at the 60 second mark, but couldn’t find it in himself to do it. MJF shoved Ospreay into the ref and decked Ospreay with the diamond ring, as MJF covered and got the pin at 59:58 with 2 seconds left on the big screen. Doctors gave MJF oxygen, as he held up the International Title.
-Arkady Aura is backstage with The Acclaimed & Mark Briscoe, as Caster & Bowens said that Briscoe needs partners for Blood & Guts. They fired Briscoe up and he agreed, but said he wasn’t the only one calling the shots. Swerve Strickland & Prince Nana walked in and there’s no better people to go to war with then those you’ve done battle with. Strickland accepted and 4 of 5 of Team AEW is set for next week.
TV Time With The Learning Tree
Big Bill introduced Chris Jericho & Bryan Keith to the ring, as Jericho scolded the crowd before running down his resume on Dynamite. Jericho promised to his branches he’ll be on every Dynamite until episode 500. Jericho begged everyone to listen to him, as bad things happen when they don’t. We see footage of HOOK getting blinded and Samoa Joe driven through a wall last week. Jericho asked who would be crazy enough not to listen to his teachings? Minoru Suzuki’s music hits and he came out to the ring as the fans sang Kaze Ni Nare. Suzuki had a contract and simply said next week. Keith grabbed the contract and read that he & Bill are banned from ringside at Blood & Guts before Suzuki headbutted Jericho before waving to the crowd.
-The Elite are backstage and said what Team AEW said about them are ridiculous. Matthew said after next week, they’ll have all the gold and power, as after what they do to Strickland next week, the AEW Title might become vacant. Mercedes Mone walks in and thanks them for banning Britt Baker from the ring tonight. Matthew said no issues from DMD for the CEO thanks to the EVPs. Okada requests Mone do her CEO dance and she obliges, leaving Okada smittened.

Mercedes Mone defeated Nyla Rose to retain the TBS Title
Mone used her speed to avoid the power of Rose early, as a drop toe hold into the ropes allowed Mone to take control. Rose tried a vertical suplex, doing some thrusts mid move, but Mone floated over, tried a head scissors, which Rose asked if Mone lost her mind? Mone was draped over the top rope, where Rose flew off the top with a knee for two.
It was back and forth during break, as we return to Mone actually having an abdominal stretch applied on Rose, who easily escaped, so Mone went for a sleeper. Rose spun her around into a snap suplex, decked Mone with a clothesline and corner cannonball for two. Mone kicked out the ankle and hit a Vader Bomb before a double knee in the corner led to a Meteora for a near fall. Both ladies fought up in the corner, as Mone hit a diving bulldog before pulling out a CEO glove with fingernails on it. Mone got the Lockjaw, but Rose bit at the hand. Mone switched to the Statement Maker (the former Bank Statement) for the submission.
Mone ripped a Britt Baker sign up ringside held by someone in a Sting mask, who pie faced Mone down, as it was Britt Baker. Security had to keep Baker from going after Mone.
-We see footage of Mariah May winning the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament last week saying Timeless Toni Storm was like a mother to her, but nothing was going to stop her from winning the Owen Hart Foundation Cup and said Toni, this one’s for you. All this was put to footage of May brutally attacking and bloodying Storm after her win.

-Jack Perry is walking backstage and said if Darby Allin wanted his attention, all he had to do was ask, he didn’t have to attack Brandon Cutler. Allin might think Perry cared, but he doesn’t give a shit about Brandon Cutler, who was shown laying at the feet of Perry. Cutler was launched into the backstage area and Perry told Allin to meet him tonight if he wants to see what a real sacrifice looks like.
Mariah May Explains Her Actions
May came out dressed as Timeless Toni Storm and her full entrance. The black and white turned to color and the music cut as May came to the ring. Taz said it took the fans a little while to realize it wasn’t Storm, as they are in Little Rock after all. May stood there silent and Schiavone said “just speak, bitch”, which popped commentary. May said everyone saw it coming last week, except Toni Storm, who was so obsessed with the spotlight, she didn’t know she was giving it away. The question shouldn’t be why, it should be why did it take Mariah so long? May didn’t think it would last this long, either. It was so easy and so much fun stringing Storm along, she wanted to see how far it could go, until she saw Wembley. May said why take the old horse out back when she could kill it in front of as many people as possible. May has been Toni Storm, but now she can be so much more.
The crowd chanted for Storm as May said she’s never loved her more than when she was on her knees bleeding, crying and screaming her name, that was her greatest performance. May’s greatest performance will be at All In. Now, All Elite Wrestling is All About Mariah. May laid and rolled around in the ring as the camera turned black and white to end the segment. This was a great follow up promo from May.
-Footage of The Bang Bang Gang being ridiculously stripped of their Six Man Titles on Collision was shown. Backstage, Christopher Daniels said if they don’t relinquish the titles, they’ll be suspended and not get a title shot. They give up the titles and Austin Gunn said they’re not afraid of someone with a daddy fetish, a Tik Tok kid, a mom from Brazzers and a lizard. They’ll regain their titles and then hit their go home line. This storyline is really bad, as the Six Man Titles really need some rehabbing, they certainly have the talent to do it.

AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland defeated AEW Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada via disqualification
(This felt like an appetizer of what these two are capable of, as I assume this won’t be the last time we see them squaring off. It was all about the chaotic brawl to lead to next week’s Blood & Guts, as it was a pretty cool visual for Allin, who should’ve made his return tonight instead of that backstage quick video last week.)
Both men with early takedowns and counters of the others finishers before a stalemate. Strickland brought Okada down and hit the leaping uppercut off the second before mocking the Rainmaker pose. Forearm battle ensues, as Strickland went low, but ran into an Okada flapjack to the floor. Okada quickly out after and hits a DDT as things went to commercial.
Strickland popped Okada with a nasty headbutt when things returned, but Okada followed with his corner dropkick, knocking Strickland off the ropes to the apron. Okada wanted a Tombstone, but Strickland avoided into a rolling Flatliner and vertical suplex for two. Okada cut off Strickland in the corner and hit the Air Raid Crash on the knee. Okada followed with a top rope elbow and flipped off the crowd during the Rainmaker pose tease, but Strickland kipped up into a takedown, but Okada was right there with a snap dropkick into the double down. Backbreaker into the spinning powerslam from Strickland, who missed a Swerve Stomp, running into an Okada Tombstone. Okada tried a Rainmaker, but Strickland spun into a Swerve Stomp.
As Strickland called for the finish, The Young Bucks sprinted to the ring and attacked for the DQ. The Acclaimed evened the odds before Jack Perry ran out and Mark Briscoe was soon to follow with his fists taped, as he took out The Bucks with a dive. Perry spiked Briscoe with a DDT, but Strickland flew in with a House Call. Strickland stood tall before Hangman Page’s music hit and out stormed Page, after a brief face off from the apron, Okada pulled Strickland to the crowd for a brawl, robbing Page from getting his hands on Strickland.
Security separated Perry & The Bucks from the rest of the pack before Darby Allin’s music hit and he came down from the rafters to Tony Schiavone yelling “It’s Darby!”. The brawl is on, as everyone fought with each other and the security as well. Allin went right for the eyes of Perry, as chaos ended Dynamite 250 with Allin being officially the 5th man for Team AEW at Blood & Guts next week.
