AEW announces seven-show residency at former ECW Arena

The former ECW Arena in Philadelphia will play host to seven AEW/ROH events this August and September.
It was already known that ROH’s Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view would emanate from Philly’s 2300 Arena on September 5. Today, AEW announced a residency at the venue spanning from August 27 through September 11. The 2300 Arena will host three Dynamite episodes and three Collisions in addition to Death Before Dishonor.
Here is the full list of dates:
- Wednesday, August 27: Dynamite
- Saturday, August 30: Collision
- Wednesday, September 3: Dynamite
- Friday, September 5: Death Before Dishonor
- Saturday, September 6: Collision
- Wednesday, September 10: Dynamite
- Thursday, September 11: Taping of AEW Collision
Tony Khan said last month that he was “very interested” in bringing AEW to the 2300 Arena for the first time ever. He told the Philadelphia Inquirer that, with it being a smaller venue, a multi-show residency made more sense than running just one or two events.
“I’ve always wanted to bring AEW to the 2300 Arena,” Khan said. “It’s one of the most iconic venues in pro wrestling. I went there when I was 13 years old, and I haven’t been back since.
“It’s not the biggest venue, and I think there would be massive demand if we only did one night or even two nights. So, I think having several nights expanding our calendar at the 2300 Arena and running multiple shows there is the right way to go.”
Ticket information for these events will be announced in the near future.
AEW had a residency similar to this in summer 2024 with several events at Esports Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Located on South Swanson Street, the 2300 Arena holds a special place in wrestling history for being ECW’s old home in Philly. It’s remained a popular venue for wrestling events, including hosting an NXT episode in November 2024. This is the first time Ring of Honor has been back to the venue since Tony Khan bought ROH.
