AEW reportedly signs CMLL star to dual contract

According to reports, Hechicero may now be #AllElite and signed to an AEW contract.

First reported by a Reddit user who has broken news before, the story was then corroborated by lucha libre insider and writer Luchablog who said he had heard the same but couldn’t confirm. He noted that it would be a dual contract with CMLL, originally set to be made official around the time of AEW Grand Slam Mexico, but got held up.

After wrestling 11 matches through 2024 into-early 2025, Hechicero has been a regular presence in AEW since late-May as part of the Don Callis Family and competing nearly exclusively in tag team matches since June.

This week, Tony Khan was asked about the potential of signing CMLL stars to contracts following WWE’s impending purchase of AAA. Khan made it a point to say that he “would never go behind CMLL’s back and take a wrestler from them” and that if he did something, it would be in coordination with CMLL and more “collaborative” like Konosuke Takeshita who wrestles for AEW, NJPW and DDT.
