AEW Rampage, WWE SmackDown draw record-low demo ratings

– Friday night’s AEW Rampage averaged 464,000 viewers on TNT, down 10.4 percent from the previous week. It’s the lowest audience for the show since March 25.
In the 18-49 demo, Rampage finished 25th on the cable charts with a 0.14 rating, down 26.3 percent from the previous week. That’s tied for the lowest rating the show has ever done in its normal time slot, and it actually matches what NXT 2.0 did last week in the same category.
– WWE SmackDown on the same night averaged 1.953 million viewers, virtually identical to the 1.952 million the show did the previous week. That’s the second-lowest audience of the year for SmackDown.
SmackDown was tied for third on the networks with a 0.38 rating in the 18-49 demo, which is the lowest the show has ever done on Fox.
Tough sports competition on Friday night was likely the reason for SmackDown and Rampage’s drops. The second night of the NFL Draft aired across multiple stations, while an NBA playoff game aired on ESPN starting at 9:10 p.m. Eastern time.
Year-over-year, SmackDown was down 7.9 percent in viewers and down 29.6 percent in 18-49.
