AEW Rampage ratings up for first episode of 2022

Friday night’s AEW Rampage averaged 588,000 viewers on TNT, up 29.8 percent from the previous week’s New Year’s Eve episode. It’s the best audience the show has had on a Friday night since November 6.

In the 18-49 demo, Rampage finished seventh on cable with a 0.24 rating, up 26.3 percent from the New Year’s Eve show. It’s Rampage’s highest rating for a Friday episode since October 29.

It was older viewers who carried the show as ratings were up in all categories with the exception of 18-34 and 12-34. There was a 14.3 percent drop among combined males and females in the former age group, while males in the latter group also dropped by that percentage.

The largest increase was with females 18-49, where the audience rose 33.3 percent. Given the drop in 18-34, it’s obvious the big increase was in 35-49. Rampage also had a substantial growth of 25 percent with people over 50.

As compared to the 10-week averages prior to this week, as shown in the chart below, this week’s Rampage was up 10.9 percent in overall viewers and up 14.3 percent in 18-49.
