AEW Rampage live results: Revolution go-home show

The final live AEW show before Revolution has arrived with tonight’s live Rampage from the famed Cow Palace in San Francisco, California.
Two tag team matches have been announced.
In one, Keith Lee will team with Dustin Rhodes against Swerve Strickland and Parker Boudreaux. This will be Lee’s first match since December’s ROH Final Battle when Strickland walked out on him in a tag team match.
In a four-way tag team match coming out of Wednesday’s Casino battle royale, Aussie Open takes on Top Flight, Dark Order (John Silver & Alex Reynolds) and Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta of the Blackpool Combat Club.
It’s expected that the full lineup for the Revolution pre-show will also be announced.

Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta defeated Aussie Open, Top Flight and Dark Order (John Silver & Alex Reynolds) (9:18)
This match was all action and furthered the feud between the Blackpool Combat Club and Dark Order. And how did AEW manage to book such a strong four-way match for Rampage against such a comparatively weak four-way for the pay-per-view?
Silver and Reynolds jumped the Blackpool Combat club team on their way to the ring. Top Flight dove onto all four of them while the brawled around ringside. Aussie Open then jumped Top Flight.
The match started with Aussie Open and Top Flight in the ring. Kyle Flethcer launched Darius into an uppercut from Mark Davis. Darius took down both members of Aussie open with a rana. Darius suplexed Fletcher and then Dante caught him with a slingshot senton.
Tags were made to Claudio Castagnoli and John Reynolds. Sliver got the tag and took down Castagnoli, and hit him with roughly 500 punches. Castagnoli came back with a knee to the midsection. He tried to toss Silver to the floor, but he caught himself on the ring apron, kicked Claudio and then hit anyone around ringside. Silver dove off the top onto Castagnoli, who caught him with a backbreaker. Rush and Preston Vance watched the match from a monitor in the back. Reynolds got the tag and ate a forearm from Claudio. Claudio and Yuta took Reynolds down with a double boot.
After a split-screen break, Reynolds countered a back suplex from Castagnoli with a cross body. The Kingdom were shown watching the match from ringside. Yuta got the tag and took out Silver. The crowd booed Yuta’s skullduggery. Reynolds caught Yuta with a double stomp to the back, and got the tag to Darius Martin. Fletcher also got the tag, and Darius took both members of Aussie Open out with a top rope crossbody. Darius then hit Fletcher, Claudio and Yuta with a over the ropes plancha.
Darius caught Fletcher with a flatiner for a near fall, broken up by Silver. Darius came off the top into a double superkick from Aussie Open. Aussie Open gave Darius a “pendulum powerbomb” for a near fall, broken up by the BCC. Castagnolia and Yuta brawled with Aussie Open, and they took Claudio down with a lariat sandwich. They went for the same move on Darius, but he ducked and Davis wallopped Fletcher.
Silver and Reynolds took out Davis with a double superkick, then hit their finishing sequence (gamingiri into a rolling elbow into a enziguri into a stunner into a german suplex… please give this a name already!) on Darius Martin. But, Yuta stomped Reynolds and Claudio pulled out Silver. Yuta tied up Darius with the seatbelt and got the pinfall.
After the match, Silver and Reynolds jumped the Blackpool Combat Club. They brawled to the back. I’m pretty sure were going to get a match between these two teams on the preshow on Sunday.
– Preview of Adam Page & John Moxley’s match at Revolution.
– “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry promised to leave Christian Cage in a hole in the ground at Revolution. This is now “The Final Burial” which sounds like a Buried Alive match.
Riho defeated Emi Sakura (9:31)
Sakura usually has a bunch of hangers-on at ringside, but came out alone tonight.
Sakura hit a chop on Riho against the ropes and then tossed her across the ring by her hair. Riho tried a crossbody but Sakura just dumped her to the mat. Riho escaped a pin attempt with the matrix bridge kickout and got a near fall with a suplex. The crowd was firmly behind Riho.
Riho sent Sakura down to the floor with a head scissors. Riho followed Sakura to the floor, and Sakura caught her with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker, then whipped her into the ring barricade. Sakura charged into Riho lying against the barricade.
Sakura dominated Riho during the split-screen break.
After the break, Riho caught Sakura with the tiger feint kick, then came off the top with a crossbody for a near fall. Sakura countered a suplex attempt with an inverted neckbreaker. Sakura got a nearfall after a bodypress against the turnbuckles. Riho caught Sakura with a couple of near falls, but Sakura caught Riho with a backslide and then La Magistral’s cradle for near fall in a crazy fast sequence. Sakura then floored Riho with a lariat.
Sakura went for a moonsault, but Riho got out of the way. Riho missed her double stomp, went for a crucifix but spun around Sakura into a sunset flip and got the pin. Just a fantastic match. Crowd was really into it at the end.
– Preview of the three way for the Women’s World title this Sunday. Ruby Soho gave an impassioned promo, the other two were just there.
Powerhouse Hobbs (w/ the Golden Inner Tube) defeated Serpentico (0:38)
Serpentico jumped Hobbs and that was the last mistake he made tonight. Hobbs whipped Serpentico into the ropes and he hit his neck in an ugly way. After a spinebuster and the “Town Business” (his burning hammer variation), Hobbs got the pin.
After the match, Hobbs grabbed a mic and cut a promo on winning the TNT Championship. Of course, Hobbs was over with the crowd.
– Renee Paquette interviewed Konosuke Takeshita. He lamented his lack of big wins, and thought maybe it was time to go back to Japan. Of course, Don Callis interrupted and offered to take Takeshita under his wing, or give him a ride to the airport if he really wants to go back to Japan. Finally this thing is going somewhere.
– QTV (at QualityTVAEW) is coming soon.
– Mark Briscoe cut a fantastic promo, and he was joined by the Lucha Bros. They will take on Mark Sterling’s team (The Varsity Athletes & Ari Daivari) on the Revolution Pre-Show.
– Complete Revolution run-down. All the teams in the four-way cut promos on each other.
Keith Lee & Dustin Rhodes defeated Swerve Strickland & Parker Boudreaux (11:07)
Keith Lee wears a cape to the ring now. He looks like the Sith.
Rhodes and Lee chased Strickland and Bourdreaux out of the ring, and Bourdreaux nearly tripped diving out of the ring. Sadly, his night would not get better.
Bourdreaux jumped Lee and Rhodes before the bell. The match started with Lee and Boudreaux. It was a slobberknocker to start. Rhodes got the tag and it was more ugly brawling with Boudreaux. Swerve caught Rhodes with a knee from behind and his team took control.
During the split-screen break, Bourdreaux tried to give Rhodes the Snake Eyes, but he’s not tall enough to do that convincingly. Then he went for a big boot that barely made it to Rhodes’ hip. Hopefully no one else was paying attention during the split-screen because that was pretty bad.
After the break, Rhodes gave Strickland a high backdrop and a spinning powerslam. Strickland’s selling was on point, and Rhodes got the hot tag to Lee. Lee mauled Boudreaux in the corner and floored him with the Pounce. Lee then tossed Strickland in the ring. Strickland hit Lee with a pair of boots that did nothing, but Strickland avoided a clothesline. Lee grabbed Strickland out of the air and slammed him down to the mat with one hand, and the crowd popped huge.
Lee set Swerve up for a suplexplex, but Boudreaux ran in with a low blow on Lee. He held Lee open, and Strickland sprung off of Lee’s chest and moonsaulted onto Rhodes. Bourdreaux then ran into Lee with another weak looking boot. Strickland came off the top with a stomp on Lee. Rhodes hit Boudreaux with a bulldog off the middle rope, but Strickland caught Rhodes with a kick. Lee hit Bourdreaux with a low crossbody, and Strickland caught Lee with a flatliner. Rhodes hit Strickland with a Canadian Destroyer. Lee pressed-slammed Rhodes onto Boudreaux (he was aiming for Strickland, who ducked). Lee hit the Big Bang Catastrophe on Boudreaux and got the pinfall. This was a great match despite Boudreaux. Lee, Rhodes and Strickland all looked fantastic.
– Excalibur ran over the Revolution card one last time. While he was doing that, Ricky Starks jumped Jericho from behind. Jericho and Starks brawled on the stage as the show ended.
Final Thoughts:
Three great matches and a lot of good interviews and segments giving the final hard-sell for the pay-per-view Sunday.
