AEW postpones Blood & Guts match, Jericho-Hardy set for Dynamite

Citing that the time and circumstances aren’t right for their Blood and Guts edition of Dynamite, AEW announced Friday night in a series of tweets that the match will not happen on this week’s edition of the show.

It’s unclear whether the other matches they had announced for the show, which include a Lucha Bros vs. Best Friends parking lot match and a Wardlow vs. Luchasaurus lumberjack match, are off as well, but a request for that clarity has been made.

In its place, AEW did announce that the show will include Chris Jericho “confronting Matt Hardy, face-to-face, one-on-one, for the first time ever.”

The Blood & Guts match is a double cage, War Games-esque affair that was to feature Kenny Omega, Hangman Page, Matt Jackson, Cody, and Hardy against Jericho, Jake Hager, Sammy Guevara, Santana, and Ortiz.

AEW tweeted that the Blood & Guts show will happen “when the time is right” and that their plan is to still run live every Wednesday. Amid the global coronavirus pandemic, they ran live last week at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, FL, in a well received show that had no fans in attendance other than some of the other wrestlers on the show.
