AEW’s Matt Jackson likely out for a few weeks after suffering stinger

After suffering a stinger nearly two weeks ago on AEW Dynamite, Matt Jackson of the Young Bucks may be out of action for a few more weeks.

In this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that Jackson is doing “a lot better” since the injury he suffered in the Wednesday, July 13th three-way match with Swerve In Our Glory and Ricky Starks & Powerhouse Hobbs where the Bucks lost the AEW Tag Team titles.

“He described it as like bad whiplash. He’s had no loss of strength, and his mobility and range of motion is already back to normal. He passed a strength test right after the injury so major concerns about the injury were alleviated quickly. But he was very sore and it may be a few weeks before he’s back in the ring,” Meltzer wrote.

Jackson missed some time in 2020 due to a partially torn MCL and slight ACL tear in their July falls count anywhere match with The Butcher & The Blade. That followed a rib injury he suffered in a Dynamite brawl in May. He also had COVID-19 in January.
