AEW files for two new trademarks

All Elite Wrestling made two new trademark filings this week.

The trademark applications were submitted on September 5 and look to be related to a potential new pro wrestling character. AEW filed to trademark the term “The Clone” and also filed for the same name in Spanish (“El Clon”).

Both trademarks are to cover the following goods and services:

Entertainment services, namely, live appearances by a professional wrestler; Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer

AEW is the owner of the filings with trademark lawyer Brad Stohry as the attorney of record. The status of both applications is listed as being accepted by the trademark office and waiting to be assigned to an examining attorney.

Any plans that AEW has for this new character — including who would be playing it and when they would be debuting — have not been revealed. The promotion has recently had success with its Hologram character that debuted on Collision this July as a new persona for luchador Aramis.
