AEW Dynamite viewership up, demo rating down for St. Patrick’s Day Slam

Wednesday’s St. Patrick’s Day Slam edition of AEW Dynamite, headlined by Thunder Rosa winning the AEW Women’s World Championship in a steel cage match, averaged 993,000 viewers on TBS. That’s up 5.1 percent from last week and is Dynamite’s fifth-best audience so far in 2022.
The episode drew a 0.38 rating in the 18-49 demo, down five percent from last week. It’s Dynamite’s fourth-lowest rating in that category since moving to TBS.
With NCAA tournament play-in games and NBA basketball on ESPN airing head-to-head as competition, Dynamite fell to sixth on the cable charts in the key demo.
The key to the 18-49 drop was actually with women, which had been way up last week. This week, women 18-49 dropped by 17.9 percent to a 0.23 rating. Females 12-34 were the only other category that dropped.
The biggest increase was with males 12-34, which climbed by 19.1 percent to a 0.25 rating. People over 50 were also up 15.2 percent.
As compared to the same week in 2021, Dynamite was up 29.3 percent in overall viewership and up 35.7 percent in the 18-49 demo. That is being compared to when NXT was still airing head-to-head with Dynamite on Wednesday nights.
Listed below are the last 11 weeks of overall viewership and 18-49 demo numbers for Dynamite. This week’s show was almost exactly even with the 10-week averages in both categories.
