AEW Dynamite tops WWE NXT in Tuesday night ratings war

With both shows going head-to-head, AEW Dynamite topped WWE NXT on Tuesday night.

– Dynamite, which was moved to Tuesday this week due to a scheduling conflict with the MLB playoffs, averaged 752,000 viewers on TBS. That’s down 23.5 percent from last Wednesday and is the lowest audience total for the show since October 23 of last year, when Dynamite aired on a Saturday night due to TNT’s NHL coverage.

In the 18-49 demo, Dynamite finished eighth on the cable charts with a 0.26 rating, down 18.8 percent from last Wednesday. That’s also Dynamite’s lowest rating since October 23, 2021.

There was heavy sports competition last night, including the MLB playoffs and the opening night of the NBA season.

As compared with the same week in 2021 (which aired on a Saturday), Dynamite was up 30.8 percent in overall viewers and up 8.2 percent in 18-49.

– WWE NXT averaged 676,000 viewers in its regular time slot on the USA Network last night. That’s down 8.3 percent from last week but is still NXT’s second-highest viewership number since September 20.

NXT finished 12th on the cable charts with a 0.18 rating in the 18-49 demo, which is up 20 percent from last week and matches NXT’s best rating in that category since September 14 of last year. 

Year-over-year, NXT was up 11.6 percent in viewers and up 28.6 percent in 18-49.

Last night’s NXT was the go-home show for Halloween Havoc and included appearances by several main roster stars. Dynamite was a special “Title Tuesday” edition of the show, featuring four title bouts.

Listed on the charts below are the last 11 weeks of Dynamite and NXT ratings, along with the 10-week averages in all categories. Dynamite was down 26.7 percent in overall viewers and down 23.5 percent in 18-49 as compared to the recent averages. NXT was down 0.5 percent in overall viewers but up 20 percent in 18-49.
