AEW Dynamite tops 900k viewers, beats NXT in this week’s ratings


Ratings are in for this week’s installment of the Wednesday night wars with AEW Dynamite getting the win, averaging 928,000 viewers on TNT.
That viewership number was up 25% from last week.
With coverage of the U.S. impeachment hearings and U.S. Democratic primaries dominating cable news ratings, this week’s Dynamite dropped to 11th in the 18-49 demo with a 0.36 rating, up 6% from last week.
NXT averaged 770,000 viewers, up 8% from last Wednesday with a 0.22 rating in the 18-49 demo.That number was even with last week, but NXT climbed slightly to 34th overall in the cable TV ratings.
Dynamite was headlined by a segment where Cody Rhodes received 10 lashes as one of the stipulations for him getting a match against MJF at the Revolution pay-per-view. NXT featured an appearance by Charlotte Flair that was announced after she was confronted by Rhea Ripley on Monday’s Raw.
Also, Miz and Mrs., which followed NXT on USA, averaged 475,000 viewers and a 0.20 rating. Those numbers were up from the 437,000 viewers and 0.18 rating for last week’s season premiere but still well below what the show was doing when it aired after SmackDown.
