AEW Dynamite ratings down, ranks third on cable

Wednesday night’s episode of AEW Dynamite averaged 832,000 viewers on TBS, down 7.9 percent from last week. It’s the lowest audience total for the show since May 17 and is the fourth-lowest of 2023 so far.

In the 18-49 demo, Dynamite finished third on the cable charts with a 0.30 rating. That’s down 9.1 percent from last week but ties Dynamite’s fourth-best rating in that category since March 22.

With both the NBA and NHL playoffs ending, there wasn’t the usual major sports competition that Dynamite has been facing the last couple months. An ESPN broadcast of an MLB game between the New York Yankees and New York Mets did above average numbers for that network and topped the cable charts with a 0.42 rating in the 18-49 demo and averaged 1.903 million viewers overall.

A Vanderpump Rules “Secrets Revealed” special took the second spot on the charts with a 0.41 rating in 18-49. It averaged 1.134 million viewers.

Dynamite’s ratings were down from last week in every demo with the exception of females 12-34, which were steady. The biggest decline came with women 18-49, which were down 18.2 percent.

As compared to the same week in 2022, Dynamite’s overall audience was up 9.3 percent while its 18-49 rating was up 7.1 percent. The show last year did go up against the Stanley Cup Finals, so the competition was tougher.

Listed below are the last 11 weeks of overall viewership and individual demo ratings for Dynamite, along with the 10-week averages in all categories. This week’s show was down three percent in overall viewers but even in 18-49 as compared to the recent averages.
