AEW Dynamite draws lowest ratings since move to TBS

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite averaged 869,000 viewers, down 14.2 percent from last week. It’s the lowest audience for Dynamite since moving to TBS and the smallest audience for the show overall since December 1.

In the 18-49 demo, Dynamite drew a 0.31 rating, down 24.4 percent from last week. That matches the lowest number the show has drawn on a Wednesday night in its regular time slot since April 7, 2021, which was the last week that NXT aired head-to-head with Dynamite.

Dynamite finished third on the cable charts, trailing two NBA games. Olympic coverage on NBC averaged nearly seven million viewers, but Dynamite did beat USA Network’s Olympic coverage on cable.

In the individual demos, the biggest drop was with males 12-34, where the audience fell 37 percent. The show also dropped 30 percent in the 18-34 age group. With females 12-34, the audience actually stayed even with the previous week, the only demo that didn’t drop.

As compared to the same week in 2021, Dynamite was up 16.3 percent in overall viewers but had the same 18-49 rating. It’s the first show in 2022 that hasn’t had year-over-year growth in the demo.

Listed below are the last 11 weeks of overall viewership and 18-49 demo ratings for Dynamite. This week’s show was down 13.2 percent in viewers and down 18.4 percent in 18-49 as compared to the recent averages.
