AEW Dynamite ratings down against Hurricane Ian coverage

Wednesday night’s AEW Dynamite averaged 990,000 viewers on TBS, down 4.7 percent from last week. It’s the first time Dynamite has been below one million viewers since August 17.
In the 18-49 demo, Dynamite finished ninth on the cable charts with a 0.34 rating. That’s down 2.9 percent from last week and matches the lowest rating the show has drawn in that category since the same August 17 episode.
Coverage of Hurricane Ian on the Weather Channel dominated the Wednesday cable charts, occupying the top seven spots in the 18-49 demo. Tucker Carlson on Fox News also finished ahead of Dynamite.
Dynamite was down from last week in most demos. The biggest decline was with females 12-34, which were down 33.3 percent. The only demo to have an increase was males 18-49, which were up 2.2 percent.
As compared with the same week in 2021, Dynamite was down 14.1 percent in total viewers and down 24.4 percent in 18-49. It’s the 12th straight week that the show has had a year-over-year decline in the key demo.
Listed below are the last 11 weeks of overall viewership totals and individual demo ratings for Dynamite, along with the 10-week average in all categories. This week’s show was down 1.7 percent in viewers but even in 18-49 as compared to the recent averages.
