AEW Dynamite live results: TNT Championship ladder match
The TNT title will be on the line in a ladder match on tonight’s AEW Dynamite.
Sammy Guevara defends the TNT Championship against former champ Scorpio Sky in a ladder match. Sky lost the TNT title to Guevara in his second defense at Battle of the Belts earlier this month.
In an Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament qualifier, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler of FTR will face each other. CM Punk has been announced as a special guest commentator for the bout.
In a Philadelphia street fight, Hikaru Shida will take on Serena Deeb as the two renew their rivalry.
Lance Archer is MJF’s hired hand this week, facing Wardlow.
In a 10-man tag team match, Adam Cole, The Young Bucks, Bobby Fish, and Kyle O’Reilly will take on Dante Martin, Brian Pillman Jr., Griff Garrison, Lee Johnson, and Brock Anderson.

Owen Hart Foundation Cup qualifier: Dax Harwood defeated Cash Wheeler
They performed lots of classic Hart spots (both Owen and Bret). Enjoyable overall.
This was the first singles match between the FTR tag partners. Early on, they performed a carbon copy of the Bret/Owen Hart wrist exchange from their WrestleMania match. Dax landed a thumb to the eye that may or may not have been intentional, frustrating Cash. Neither man could establish an advantage until Dax chopped Cash hard up top and brought him down hard with a superplex.
Cash avoided a dive and dropkicked Dax to the floor ahead of a commercial. Once back, both men collided in the middle of the ring on simultaneous crossbody attempts. They traded cradles until Cash reversed the slingshot powerbomb into a hurricanrana pinning combination for two. Dax returned fire with the slingshot Liger bomb for two of his own.
After more cradles, Cash hit a straight piledriver for a near fall. He went for an avalanche back suplex as the follow-up, but Dax turned it into a crossbody in mid-air for a near fall of his own. A running crossbody from Cash sent both men spilling to the floor, where Cash sold an injured knee.
Back in the ring, Dax teased the sharpshooter, but hesitated, leading to Cash cradling him. Dax returned with a small package of his own for the flash pin.

Hangman Page vs. CM Punk for the AEW World Championship was announced for Double or Nothing.
Punk grabbed a mic and walked towards the ring from commentary. He said that when he returned to wrestling, he wondered, “Can I still do this?” Now, he can confidently say “I can.” Everything up to this point has been a warm-up. And he’s only made it this far because of the fans. Win, lose, or draw, at Double or Nothing, Page will know he’s been in a fight with Punk – “…and I will continue to fight until the wheels fall off.”

Scorpio Sky and Dan Lambert were backstage. Sky was screwed out of the TNT Championship, but he’s not here to complain. Sammy Guevara’s given some great ladder match moments, but Sky’s here to kick some ass and win the title.

Blackpool Combat Club (Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley, & Wheeler YUTA) defeated The Nightmare Factory (QT Marshall, Nick Comoroto, & Aaron Solo)
BCC dominated from the jump until Comoroto downed YUTA with a back body drop, allowing the Nightmare Factory to take control through a commercial. Once back, a German suplex from YUTA allowed him to reach Danielson for the hot tag. Danielson laid in a variety of strikes on Solow before taking out the other Factory members with a dive.
Danielson laid in mid kicks on Solo before going for an aggressive LeBell Lock, forcing QT to break it up. Moxley planted QT with a half-and-half suplex before clotheslining him out of the ring. Danielson cut off a Solo dive with a dropkick.
YUTA and Comoroto tagged in. Comoroto tossed YUTA across the ring and beat him down until YUTA surprised him with a guillotine and then a sleeper. YUTA hammered in elbows before a seatbelt pinning predicament gave BCC the win.

Britt Baker, Jamie Hayter, and Toni Storm — three Owen Hart Cup qualified wrestlers — were backstage. Baker and Hayter insulted Storm, but then Ruby Soho interrupted, saying “enough was enough.” She and Hayter wanted a fight, but Baker stopped them and she and Hayter left.

Jungle Boy, Luchasaurus, & Christian Cage were backstage. Jungle Boy said it stung extra bad, but he didn’t want to sound like a sore loser. Christian said Jungle Boy just sounded like a loser, but he’ll bounce back. He challenged any top 5-ranked team to step up, and Ricky Starks and Powerhouse Hobbs of Team Taz appeared and accepted.

MJF and Shawn Spears were seated in a luxury box, and MJF insulted Philadelphia. He said Archer would silence everyone. Wardlow emerged to no music, handcuffed and accompanied by security, as usual.
Wardlow defeated Lance Archer (w/ Jake “The Snake” Roberts)
Archer attacked with a running cannonball before the bell. With the match underway, Wardlow came back with a running hurricanrana and a corner spear. He followed it up with a spinebuster. Wardlow wanted the Powerbomb Symphony, but Archer spun out and went for the EBD claw. Simultaneous clotheslines sent both men to the canvas.
They traded forearms in the center of the ring. Archer hit rabbit punches and landed his rope-walk moonsault before hitting a chokeslam for two. He followed it up with the Blackout for two, then Wardlow cradled him for a near fall. Archer wanted another Blackout, but Wardlow fought out with headbutts and landed a senton bomb for two.
The Powerbomb Symphony (count: 4) followed for the win.

Jericho Appreciation Society Sitdown with Eddie Kingston, Santana, & Ortiz
Before Kingston and company came out, Angelo Parker reminded the audience that any physicality between the two teams would lead to a fine and suspension.
Kingston, Santana, and Ortiz emerged. Jericho complained about how the J.A.S. has been slighted by Kingston, so he demanded an apology. They responded with middle fingers. Garcia tried to bait them into attacking him, but they wouldn’t react.
“I don’t care about this sports entertainment crap,” was Kingston’s response. He demanded a fight, and he doesn’t care if it’s 5-on-3. Jericho said being 5-on-3 is a problem, and Kingston’s too dumb to realize it. He’s putting out a hit on Kingston. Jericho dared Kingston to get himself kicked out of another company.
Kingston said that in his world, putting out a hit means putting someone in the ground. He doesn’t think Jericho’s that guy.

Philly Street Fight: Serena Deeb defeated Hikaru Shida
I thought the action here was great, but the crowd just didn’t care for whatever reason. It’s been the weakest AEW crowd environment overall in months.
Shida came out with a kendo stick and attacked before the bell. She landed a stiff missile dropkick, knocking Deeb out of the ring. Shida produced a chair and wanted her step-up knee, but Deeb had it scouted. Deeb countered a running knee with a chair shot.
Back in the ring, Deeb hit a kneebreaker onto the chair ahead of the break. Upon return, Deeb was still targeting Shida’s injured knee, but Shida reversed another kneebreaker and sent Deeb head-first into the chair. Deeb threw powder in Shida’s face and attacked her blinded opponent with a kendo stick.
Shida fought back and wildly swung with the kendo stick, eventually striking Deeb. She found some water and wiped the powder out of her eyes before attacking with a step-up dropkick. Shida laid in more kendo stick shots. She wanted the Katana, but Deeb came back with a chair strike.
Deeb wrapped Shida’s knee in the chair, but Shida was able to pop up and meet Deeb at the top rope and land an avalanche Falcon Arrow for two. Shida used the kendo stick in a choke, but Deeb jackknifed out of it for two. Deeb poked Shida’s eye and hit the Deeb-tox on a chair for. a near fall.
The Serenity Lock followed. Deeb repeatedly drove Shida’s knee onto the chair and locked on a Texas Cloverleaf, forcing her to tap.

MJF and Shawn Spears were backstage. MJF berated the interviewer and said he had a plan for Wardlow. He called someone and offered them six figures for one match: someone who his smarter, stronger, and taller than Wardlow. “And you can’t teach that,” teased that it was Impact wrestler W. Morrissey, the former Big Cass in WWE.

The lights went out and an incapacitated Fuego Del Sol appeared on the stage. The House of Black teased unmasking him, but Alex Abrahantes interrupted from the ring. He said they’ve been trying to bait the House of Black into a fight.
Pento Oscuro and PAC made their entrances, but then Abrahantes followed them out, meaning the man in the ring wasn’t him. He removed the robe and it was a returning Rey Fenix, who attacked House of Black with a shovel and finished Buddy Matthews off with a double stomp. All three in the Death Triangle landed simultaneous dives on the House of Black to close things.

Darby Allin vs. Swerve Strickland was announced as an Owen Hart Cup qualifier for Rampage. They were backstage with Schiavone. Swerve said they weren’t friends, and that he’d beat Darby. Darby said that AEW is his house, and this tournament is his tournament.

The Undisputed Elite (Adam Cole, Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson, Kyle O’Reilly, & Bobby Fish) (w/ Brandon Cutler) defeated Dante Martin, Lee Johnson, Brock Anderson, & The Varsity Blonds (Brian Pillman Jr. & Griff Garrison) (w/ Julia Hart & Arn Anderson)
The Undisputed Elite attacked right at the bell. They pretty much took turns beating down each opponent and staying one step ahead. The team of youngsters came back with a flip dive from Johnson and a springboard from Dante, but the Undisputed Elite regained control during commercial.
Upon return, Nick went on his signature run of offense. U.E. hit a four-way BTE Trigger on Johnson before Cole lowered the Boom for the win.

The cameras cut backstage. Jericho Appreciation Society had beaten down Kingston, Santana, and Ortiz before blowing a fireball (?) into Kingston’s face.

TNT Championship Ladder Match: Scorpio Sky (w/ Dan Lambert) defeated Sammy Guevara (c) (w/ Tay Conti)
This was a spectacular main event. It was merely “very good” until the final couple minutes, which were as entertaining as any AEW match this year.
Sky attacked before the bell and sent Guevara into the barricade. Guevara came back with a German suplex out on the ramp. He set up a ladder in the ring, and the two jockeyed for position. Guevara climbed the ladder when it was a good distance away from the belt, instead opting for almost a phoenix splash that didn’t hit at all. Awful spot and landing. The officials checked on Guevara leading into commercial.
Once back, both men climbed ladders in the ring that were too far from the belt. Guevara went for the diving cutter just as he did in the Cody Rhodes match, but Sky had it scouted and turned it into a TKO. Sky produced a barbed wire-wrapped ladder and brought it into the ring, but Guevara sent him crashing into it with a Spanish Fly.
Guevara pulled Lambert into the ring, and Conti kicked him hard low. Paige VanZant ran out and brawled with Conti as Sky and Guevara battered one another. They posed and celebrated but were cut off by pump kicks, allowing Guevara and Conti to kiss.
Sky hit a flatliner to stop Guevara from trying something with the barbed wire ladder. He climbed, but Conti climbed on his back; VanZant did the same to Guevara. Both men climbed the ladders with the opposite woman on their backs. Conti and VanZant both fell to the mat and landed simultaneous high kicks.
With Sky and Guevara both at the top, they traded strikes and jockeyed for position. Sky bit Guevara’s middle finger, but Guevara sent him to the mat. Sky popped up and tipped over the ladder, sending Guevara crashing into the barbed wire ladder in a brutal spot. Sky climbed and looked like he had it, but Guevara popped up and sprung to meet him at the top.
Sky punched Guevara to knock him off the ladder and pulled down the championship to win the title for the second time.
– After the match, Frankie Kazarian arrived to let Sky know he’s his first challenger.
