An In Memoriam graphic for Jerry Jarrett started AEW Dynamite before Excalibur welcomed us to the show, as fittingly Jeff Jarrett & his crew make their way to the ring for our opening contest.
AEW All Atlantic Champion Orange Cassidy (w/Danhausen), The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens & Max Caster) & Daddy Ass defeated Jeff Jarrett, Jay Lethal, Satnam Singh & Sonjay Dutt
(First off, condolences to the Jarrett family for their loss. This was a decent opener, crammed with a bunch of spots, maybe too much. It did get everyone involved and the right team won, especially if The Acclaimed are presumed to be facing The Gunns at Revolution.)
Caster’s pre-match rap gave props to Jerry Jarrett, all while slamming Jeff for being a nepo baby in TNA Lockdown. After Dutt faked like he would start, it was Bowens & Lethal who got things going, as The Acclaimed double teamed early on until Caster found himself in the wrong corner. After some nonsense of tags that amounted to nothing but fake outs, The Gunns came out to the stage and allowed Jarrett to beat down Daddy Ass with Lethal. This including a Fargo Strut, which Singh did as well, as he tagged in and wiped out The Acclaimed & Cassidy in one swoop.
Singh blocked an Orange Punch, launching Cassidy across the ring. Singh tagged in Dutt, but Daddy Ass was able to hit a huge Fame-Asser on the big man. Referee Aubrey tried to get Dutt in the ring, as Jarrett used the stolen Golden Globe on Daddy Ass, while Lethal took out Bowens with a Lethal Combination. Dutt tried to take out Caster with the pencil, but ran into the Orange Punch. The match continued to break down as Dutt was ultimately dropped with Scissor Me Timbers to give Bowens the pin. The Acclaimed had a staredown with The Gunns post match before scissoring with Daddy Ass & Cassidy.
-Video package of Bryan Danielson’s quest to the Ironman Match at Revolution is shown saying the Boogeyman is going to get MJF.

ROH Champion Claudio Castagnoli & Jon Moxley defeated Rush & Preston Vance (w/Jose the Assistant) in a Texas Tornado Match
(This started somewhat clunky, but boy it cranked up in a big way the second half. It turned into a war and I wouldn’t be shocked if Rush is the man to challenge Castagnoli for the ROH Title at the PPV. It wouldn’t be a Moxley match if he didn’t bleed and Vance bled a gusher as well. This was super hard hitting.)
Rush & Vance attacked prior to commercial, but the match officially began when we returned. Excalibur referenced how Vance & Moxley’s previous matches resulted in Moxley steamrolling Vance, but things are different now with Vance’s new attitude. Castagnoli was taken out on the floor, as Moxley was double teamed in the ring. Castagnoli made the save, as Moxley rolled out and chucked in some chairs. Moxley tried a slingshot into the railing on Rush, but didn’t get all of it as Hangman Page is shown watching from backstage.
At the request of the fans, Vance was repeatedly thrown into chairs set up in the corner, as Moxley launched himself to the floor onto Rush. As Moxley was on the apron, Vance speared him through the ropes, wiping out Castagnoli & Rush in the process. Rush smacked a chair against the shoulder of Castagnoli, as he & Vance stacked a table on top of him with more chairs. Jon Moxley is bleeding, as you can check that off your Dynamite Bingo card, with Vance & Rush isolating him during commercial.
Moxley started a striking battle with Rush, as Vance clocked Moxley in the head with a chain wrapped fist for a two count. Vance poured down punches with the chain, as Castagnoli finally recovered to make the save and dished out punches with the chain on Vance, who was busted open in the process. The Giant Swing on Vance got about twelve revolutions before we got each team slugging it out. Rush & Castagnoli had a face off until Jose attacked Castagnoli with a chair. This led to Wheeler YUTA beating him up the ramp to the back. Rush called for Bulls Horn, but Castagnoli speared him in mid air. Castagnoli & Rush spilled outside, as Vance tried to hang Moxley with the chain, but Moxley reversed and choked out Vance with the chain to win it.
Hangman Page is shown being attacked by The Butcher, Blade & Kip Sabian backstage, as Dark Order ran in to save their former running buddy.
-Jim Ross is having a sit down interview with Wardlow, who said he shared some personal stories with Joe when they were teaming. Wardlow shared the story with us he looked up to his father, who he had a somewhat rocky relationship with. His father had Stage 4 cancer, but was able to see his son wrestle at his first independent show. After he passed, Wardlow said he grew his beard and hair out for him. Joe knew this and took it from him, the connection to his father. Joe might’ve survived every monster, he won’t survive Wardlow.
ROH Tag Team Champion Mark Briscoe defeated Josh Woods (w/Mark Sterling, Ari Daivari & Tony Nese)
(An excellent showing for Briscoe in his second match in AEW, as Woods was a solid opponent for him here. The Lucha Brothers showing up got a huge reaction from the crowd, as we were told on Twitter earlier in the day they’d be in action tonight, but didn’t hear about it on commentary.)
A strong ovation for Briscoe, who used his speed early to send Woods to the floor, but Sterling took the ref as Nese & Daivari attacked Briscoe outside. The crowd went crazy as the Lucha Bros hit the ring to fend them off and fight to the back. Woods laid out Briscoe with a corkscrew suplex on the floor as we went to commercial with Woods controlling the action. Briscoe battled back with Redneck Kung-Fu, until more Sterling nonsense put Woods back in control.
Briscoe hit a thrust chop and charging boot that sent Woods outside again, as Briscoe used a chair to catapult himself over the top to the floor. Back inside, Briscoe hit a Razors Edge for two, but missed Jay-Driller, as Woods hit Pure Chaos for two of his own. Both men traded counters until Briscoe hit a rolling DVD, pointed to the sky and connected with a Froggy Bow for the win.
-Renee Paquette has her sit down with Adam Cole, who said he couldn’t be happier to be back on the road with AEW. He’s discouraged he’s not in the ring, but mini victories are what he’s come to appreciate. Looking at the AEW roster, he has a few ideas on who he wants to face, but will keep that to himself. It will be good for All Elite Wrestling and good for Adam Cole when he returns to action.
MJF made his entrance prior to commercial, as he threw a fans phone, tossed a drink in another fans face and seemed to soak in the boos from the crowd, despite this all being picture in picture.
**********
MJF started his promo after break saying it wasn’t long ago that the fans who worship Bryan Danielson now were previously devil worshipers. He turned his back on them before they could turn their back on him. Just like the crowd, Danielson is trash who convinced the crowd he’s better than MJF. The only way you’re the Best in the World is if you’re holding the AEW World Championship, not having 5 Star Matches. MJF is the best wrestler in the world, as Danielson doesn’t have the balls to do what it takes to win the title.
MJF brought out Christopher Daniels, who he said Danielson has looked up to his entire career. MJF wanted Daniels to tell the fans the truth about Danielson. Daniels said MJF paid him an obscene amount of money to denigrate Danielson, as the truth is, Danielson is set to knock MJF’s dick in the dirt. 20 year old Bryan Danielson hit him so hard he felt like he was going to die and that’s when he knew he would be great. Daniels referenced the King of the Indies tournament in 2001 that inspired the creation of Ring of Honor. Danielson was a sponge who wanted to learn, he is who MJF wishes he could be.
Daniels called MJF a fraud and MJF smacked the microphone out of his hand. Daniels slapped MJF in the face and in return, MJF punted Daniels low and applied the Salt of the Earth until Bryan Danielson hit the ring and MJF bailed.
-A quick video package of The Gunns celebrating their Tag Team Title victory last week. Colten said they’ve had 10 televised matches and teaming for one year. Come Revolution, welcome to the Gunn Show.
Jungle Boy Jack Perry defeated ROH Six Man Champion Brian Cage (w/Prince Nana)
(This wasn’t as good as their Winter is Coming match, but it’s simply because it was the match to suffer from picture in picture. It still had some good action as Cage & Perry have good chemistry together. The return of Christian Cage puts a hurdle in front of Perry on his quest for gold, as he’ll have to finally end this feud if he wants that to happen.)
This is a rematch from Winter is Coming, as Perry used his speed early on with two dives outside, but on the third, Cage caught him with a slam on the apron. Cage did his signature second rope suplex from the apron inside and controlled Perry throughout the break. Perry fought out of a pop up powerbomb, but dropped Cage with an enzugiri. Cage caught a flying Perry again and hit a Waterwheel Drop for a close two.
Cage bridged out of a pin into a buckle bomb and F5, but Perry wouldn’t quit. Cage tried a suplex to the floor, but Perry hung him in the ropes with a double stom and top rope splash for two. Cage hulked up quickly, but suffered a crucifix bomb, thrust kick and roll up to give Perry the win.
As Perry was backing up the ramp signaling for championship gold, Christian Cage returned on the stage with his arm in a sling still. Perry charged, but was apparently maced in the face as Cage took off the sling. Cage hit the Killswitch on the ramp and said he wasn’t done with Perry.
-Renee Paquette informed us at Revolution, The Gunns will defend their titles against two teams. The first will be the winners of a traditional tag team battle royal next week, the following week; a Casino Battle Royale will determine the third team. The Acclaimed and Daddy Ass showed up and said since they were screwed out of their titles, they are making this a Four Way tag match at Revolution, so apparently that’s official.

-The Elite, Don Callis & Michael Nakazawa are backsage with basketballs talking about NBA All Star Weekend. AR Fox & Top Flight show up, holding basketballs as well, wanting to run it back on Rampage from their trios match last week. Callis said no, as Dante said they don’t have balls, so Omega accepted. This ended in Brandon Cutler being hit in the balls with a basketball. This was a bunch of nonsense to just announce a Trios Title rematch on Rampage. A super quick graphic of The House of Black was shown as this was going on, so it appears they are on the horizon for the Trios champs.
Hangman Adam Page defeated Kip Sabian (w/Penelope Ford)
(Pretty quick win for Page here, as despite the attack by Sabian and crew, it wasn’t enough. The post match was the much bigger story here.)
Sabian mocked Page, who it was questioned how healthy he was following the attack earlier tonight. Excalibur mentions how Page & Sabian are the winners of the first ever matches in AEW history at Double or Nothing 2019 as both men avoided dives until Page was distracted by Ford to let her husband get control with a double leg moonsault to the floor. Sabian controlled the action during break, but missed a top rope stomp and Page tackled him to the floor. Page launched Sabian into the railing and hit a pop up powerbomb back inside for two. Sabian missed a reverse DVD, as Page countered and hit a Dead Eye for the win.
Post match, Jon Moxley walked to the ring with Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler YUTA. Moxley said Page thinks they have unfinished business, but they don’t, Moxley beat him weeks ago. He has respect for Page, has his number, but no chance in hell Page will ever beat him again. Page said he doesn’t think Moxley is satisfied with how it ended, with a roll up. Page thinks this ends with only one of them left standing, at Revolution. Moxley hoped he would say that, he doesn’t have any friends to talk him out of it.
Dark Order walked out and Evil Uno said they’ve had his back through in through. Page intervened, but Uno told him to get out of his face. Uno pie faced Moxley and said he’s not afraid of him. Moxley looked past Uno and said Texas Death Match at Revolution with Page.
-Tony Schiavone is backstage with the Jericho Appreciation Society. Jericho said Ricky Starks won’t be getting his rematch, as he’s not on Jericho’s level. Daniel Garcia said this isn’t Starks’ time, this Friday he’s going to expose Starks as an absolute fraud.
**********
-Tony Schiavone is backstage with Ethan Page, Matt Hardy, Isiah Kassidy and an “injured” Stokely Hathaway, who demands HOOK be suspended for his actions last week. Schiavone said he’s been told HOOK has been suspended upon investigation. Taz was not too pleased on commentary learning this info. This was ridiculous.
Ruby Soho defeated Toni Storm (w/Saraya) and Dr. Britt Baker (w/AEW Women’s Champion Jamie Hayter)
(I enjoy the story they’re telling with where will Soho go, but the match itself was super clunky and all over the place. This was the right finish, with the wrench in the storyline potentially being Soho’s interest in the AEW Women’s title, as she seemed to realize this could be more important than both sides wanting her on their side. We’ll see where this goes ultimately, as they need a match for Jamie Hayter at Revolution.)
Before the match, Saraya & Storm attacked a “fan” ringside holding up a Britt Baker sign and were about to spray paint her, but Soho’s entrance put a stop to it. Soho popped Baker with a punch early, but as Storm held her for another one, Soho pulled back. Storm was sent outside as Excalibur questions where Soho’s allegiances lie. Baker was pulled outside by Storm, as Storm & Soho traded wrestling holds and not strikes. Storm wiped out Baker with Sweet Cheek Music, as Storm went to the floor with Saraya, leaving Soho in the middle to decide who to go after during break.
Baker jumped in and sent Soho to the floor, as Storm & Baker had pretty much a singles match in picture in picture. Soho intervened and drove Baker into the corner, but was dropped with a headbutt and uppercut from Storm. Baker drove Soho in the corner and took out Storm with a Sling Blade as Baker hit a neckbreaker/DDT combo on both ladies for a near fall. Saraya tripped up Baker, as Storm hit a German suplex, but Soho responded with a pump knee. Storm called for another hip attack, but ran into a STO by Soho. Baker couldn’t hit her spinning suplex, as Storm broke it up with a superkick with all ladies down.
With Soho in a cazadora position on Storm, Baker did a school girl and Soho went flying, which allowed Storm & Baker to slug it out. A ripcord elbow and spinning fisherman’s suplex got Baker a close two, as Soho went for a top rope dive on Baker, but ran right into a punch by Storm, who applied a Cloverleaf. Baker tried for Lockjaw at the same time, but Saraya jumped in with the worst looking kicks ever. Storm wiped out Hayter with a Tornado DDT on the floor, as Saraya hit the Knight Cap on Baker. Saraya actually spray painted the butt of Storm, who did Sweet Cheek Music onto Baker. Soho sent Saraya crashing into Storm on the floor and rolled up Baker for the win. The show ended with Soho in the middle of Saraya & Hayter demanding where her alliance is at, as Soho seems to be pretty interested in the Women’s Title.
